This is a true statement concerning the majority view of historians, but (1) is far from a statement of fact (it is consensus based on extremely scant evidence of debatable significance) and (2) has zero to do with whether the Jesus mythos of the gospels bears the slightest relationship to the man himself. Many atheists accept the historical Jesus position and that causes precisely no inconsistency with their contention that there are no deities whatsoever. 
Many historians may also agree that there was once a man named Frank who hit his thumb with a hammer.
A witness noticed that Frank then yelled out in pain at the same time lightning was rolling across the sky. This does not mean that historians believe that Frank was in fact "Thor, the god of thunder"
