Well..... there's 'Polite' and then there's quality invective.

Must admit that your current run of expletives are rather pedestrian there Red Pill.

Cheers.

Indeed! I've seen some incredible invective here on the internet. Some of it from pencil-armed 14 year olds.

It's interesting to read the history of WW2 from the perspective of the various participants on different sides and the different ways they view the conflict, the causes of it and the outcome. While you can have definite facts about history, for example the date of a battle, a lot of it is subjective.

After action reports show that the most important parts of an action were those that directly affected the person doing the reporting.

Speaking as a Historical Wargamer the commander's memoirs are always fairly near the top of the reading list.
For WWII there is a sort of standard set;
Panzer Leader - Guderian
Panzer Operations - Raus
Panzer Battles - von Mellenthin
Rommel Papers  - Rommel
Marshall Zhukov's Greatest Battles - Zhukov
Al Amein to River Sangro - Montgomery
Normandy to the Baltic - Montgomery
Corps Commander - Horrocks
By Tank into Normandy - Hills
