Kobe died because of the helicopter's pilot and or maintenance issues, not because little green men were out to get him.

I didn't see anyone suggest that Kobe died because of the whole record thing. It was just pointed out that it's weird. It is.
Statistically - the helicopter flight is way safer than the drive to the helipad.
Especially if the pad is on the roof of the building you're in.

I saw a report saying the area was quite foggy. As usual jumping to conclusions is a thing. After working through the evidence we may find out the sequence of events. I prefer to wait for a while after initial reports because the rest is just filler that some people will jump on. One of his daughters died in the crash too. I feel bad for the family.
