He only offered that he could see things her way, in retrospect. He never stopped defending himself, and he was never convicted of anything. I really don't see why it's so hard to believe that a person could find themselves in that situation.

Come on dude, there is no ambiguity to RAPE, either they had consensual sex, or they did not. The prosecution dropped the case, therefore THERE IS NO NEED for Kobe to make ANY STATEMENT, yet he does, and I guarantee the NBA made him make that apology for the reasons stated.
Kind of like when Stephen A. Smith (who's allowed to say anything he wants about black men) was suspended and forced to apologize when he offended a white woman at espnwith his comments on the Ray Rice situation.
Quote:While the sports anchor did say, “We know you have no business putting your hands on a woman,” he also cautioned women, saying, “Let’s make sure we don’t do anything to provoke wrong actions.”

Stehen a smith did not get suspended for offending a white woman. He got suspendedbecause he went off on a diatribe about domestic violence and how women the women share the blame.

It was ambiguous enough for him to think it was consensual even as he understood why she thought it wasn't. I don't think it's impossible that Kobe Byrant, an actual human being, possessed the sort of empathy and decency required to offer such a statement up. If we believe his version of events, at all, that this was a misunderstanding........then I don't see why it would take the NBA's insistence to reassert as much.

That's a lie, he stated:
#1. "We know you have no business putting your hands on a woman"
And
#2. "Let’s make sure we don’t do anything to provoke wrong actions" which is what people say to blacks regarding police all the time. In the following videos you'll see a cop assaults a high school student, and in the next video a white Teacher DEFENDS the cops actions...

I did not misrepresent anything, his quote to the women was " let' s make sure we don't do anything to promote wrong actions" that is a direct quote that implies the victims of domestic violence were somehow provoking it and thats what he apologized for. Man you are dishonest.

Gotta go with you on this one, Huggy. Angela Box seems to be an idiot.
Of COURSE the cop should have been terminated and prosecuted. Any cop who feels the need to use that kind of force to remove an unruly (and unarmed) teen from a classroom is a dangerously incompetent cop.
