Impeachment Vote Predictions

RE: Impeachment Vote Predictions
You wanna know the difference between Clittin's banging Monica and Trump's infidelities? Well, fine. Here's a couple points:
  • As mentioned before, while Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky was the linchpin of the entire Clinton impeachment. Trump's case? It's not. It's all centered around a case of quid pro quo of Trump blackmailing the PM of the Ukraine to try and dig up dirt on Joe Biden. All the sexual misconduct allegations against Donald Trump are irrelevant to the impeachment. And even with Bill Clinton, well, even if the four women who've accused him of misconduct are correct (which they may be), guess what? They weren't analysing what he did with Juanita Broaddrick, Leslie Millwee, Paula Jones, or Kathleen Willey on the Senate floor. It was Monica.
  • The Lewinsky affair wasn't consensual because it was "one of our guys." It was consensual because it was consensual. Because Monica Lewinsky affirmed that the relationship was consensual even when she talked about how the affair was a kind of "abuse of power" because of the power imbalance. (I am not one of those people who believes that power imbalance automatically renders consent a moot point, if only because I know that thinking about it logically leads to the exact argument that leads to the Andrea Dworkin "all heterosexual sex is rape" mentality.)
  • Well, let's face it, it's not the Dems who were willing to push legislation to keep women down for the sake of "family values". And they didn't decide to put those ideas to the wayside once they found a candidate who said all the bigoted shit they wanted to get away with but lived so antithetically to those "Family values."
and that brings us to today: the House Republicans have decided they value power over any sort of morality. Once Trump's given them permission to be open about it, it's impossible for them to deny it.

Just as Jack Lemmon's smooth talking convinced the jury to go for jury nullification, claiming the (not actually real) murder of his sexy, blonde wife who didn't even wear underwear was "justifiable homicide" by preying on the basest instincts of the prosecuting attorney, Trump's more or less done the same thing to the Republican party. And don't take my word for it. Take Sen. Lamar Alexander's (R-TX). And while people bandy around the word "coward" to describe this behaviour, I'm not sure that's the right word for it. Cowardice implies to me that they, on some level, want to rebel against Trump's naked power plays, but are too scared to do it. I legitimately don't think they want to. This is not cowardice. This is depravity.

I'd like to see that sumbitch shot (or just maybe a Russian hooker's urine has a life-threatening disease), but all the righties have the guns, and they are sucking that sumbitch's balls.  Dodgy Maybe Putin will turn out to be Superman and the next time the chump blows him, it'll blow his alleged brains out.

And the depressing thing is that Biker was actually right about this whole thing actually working to Trump’s benefit: According to Gallup, Trump’s approval ratings are currently THE HIGHEST THEY’VE EVER FUCKING BEEN. Admittedly, that only means he’s at 49% approval with 50% disapproval, which is still a net negative, but still, the only time it was anywhere near this level of positivity, he had just been inaugurated.

Which says alot about how uncaring and stupid the American public is . But none the less it had to be done to do nothing at all would be worse then losing an election

I never even thought a single R would vote to convict. Pleasantly surprised by Romney, despite his motivations being, supposedly, religious.

He spoilt their story that it was only Dems who wanted to impeach. This must have made Donnie Mad.
