Last Non-winter

RE: Last Non-winter
The part where a sum loss in energy is a problem for intentional remediation. I don't think you appreciate the goal of recycled fuels.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You sound like Trump. Expounding upon that which you have no real knowledge. Somebody stuck a PC term (recycle) on something and you swallowed it whole.

Exactly what do you think this process gains? The only way it reduces atmospheric contamination is if you DON'T BURN IT. If you do - you have the exact same amounts of hydrogen and carbon you started out with PLUS whatever contamination you create using the energy to make the fuel.

The fuck does culture war have to do with recycled fuel, lol?

At work.

I think I understand Onlinebiker's ideas.

One of their posts was correct. In that it is taking/costing 'Energy' to create the 'Eco-fuel' and hence, due to entropy in any system, you always have an efficiency loss from one to the next.

The issue I think Onlinebiker is missing is that there's a... difference in the energy types being discussed.

Solar, wind and hydro generate electrical energy which really can't be stored efficiently atm.

So, the idea I am guessing, is to use said electrical energy output to convert the 'waste' CO2 back into (The equivalent) of petrochemicals as a way to better/more efficiently store said energy.

I think I've got that part right?

Cheers.

We only cleared the driveway twice - and only really needed to do it once.

I can remember years here in Michigan where we would have to do it TWICE in one day.

I know one season doesn't indicate a change in climate - but my last 20+ years of records from making syrup show an earlier season each year. (You tap trees when it's above freezing during the day and below freezing at night).

I just don't see how anyone can not see the change.

Last year NYT made a neat graph showing the change in major cities. By this measure, the Boston of today feels like the New York of the 20th century. Washington is on its way to resembling the Memphis of old. And Miami is more like Dallas used to be.

Ideally, but even in the case of using fossil fuels - if you can capture more carbon than you emit, it hardly matters that you've used energy.

Whatever energy you might have made in the process...say as a useful fuel, will offset the cost of remediation - even if you operate at sum energy loss.

And where is all this mythical energy going to come from?

You just don't know. Do you?

Not a clue, you don't even care.

You just want to make victorious noises and do the company chant - "green - green - green!".

Fckn pathetic
