Look at all the places where a high birth rate exists. You will find that the women are uneducated (not their fault), not empowered (not their fault), have no reproductive control (not their fault), have no voice (not their fault). Women are reduced to the status of second class citizens and mere baby factories.
Pretty much. They also have high rates of mortality before or in early adulthood, resulting in fewer available labor hours for work - or for caring for the children and the elderly. Especially concerning when a country - as they so often do, lacks adequate social services. There has often been a long history of high infant mortality as well. Additionally, maladministration or downright corruption in those areas with high fertility rates means that distribution problems would impact 100 or 1000 to the same effect.
The highlight is that people living in developed countries make different reproductive choices. Pop control people are dropping the ball. Investments in development will cause people to tell us that they want..and need...fewer children. Development which will require an immense amount of human labor.
