RE: Gun Ownership - are you for or against it and why?
Ya know Skipper...I am just wondering IF why the whole gun ownership thingy is "out of the question" for Brits and Ausies...IF we had the firepower that the Yanks have there wouldn't be a politician alive today in our respective countries....it is a dream I have Devil

Initially maybe. Eventually you'd probably become responsible enough to not shoot someone who you disagree with.

Sorry Jaysyn....

I don't know where in the world you are...but in Oz the ONE thing the 'people dislike most' are the pollies. Car Salesmen are a close second. Either way it is "People who peddle bullshit" The religious clery are a VERY close third....yes mates..be AFRAID BE VERY AFRAID...and grateful that we have gun laws that prohibit the people to be armed. Besides...ever tried shooting a fucking Funnel Web spider??

No, but I used to hunt crocodiles in the Northern territory with a club.

I'm for it because if someone was going to rob me, i'd rather go out with one swift shot than multiple stab wounds Smile

Unless ofcourse if shot in the gut, then i'm screwed.

Quote:I'm entirely willing to believe that's because you Brits live dangerously enough on those wrong-side roadways.

Indeed, but it's not their fault, unlike the mass cognitive dissonance which is the US gun culture.

An attempt was made in 1959 to switch to driving on the right. The change was to be introduced gradually. In the first week, those with number plates ending with an even number were to switch to driving on the right----for some reason, the switch was less than an outstanding success, possibly due to the 20,000 road deaths. The idea was quietly dropped after only a week.

You have that problem too?

I don't feel a dissonance in my mind about it, but would gladly listen at your knee as to why you feel there is one in America.
