God Exists

Hello!

Okay... so you're moving away from showing your diety to actually 'Be' and asking why other people hold the views/beliefs/ideas that they do?

Cool!

I identify, when asked, as a 'Non theist'.

Mainly because the questioner stops, thinks and then generally has to ask for my definition/meaning about my beliefs.

So... I see nothing to indicate that any diety's exist. Every diety concept I've been presented with is either obviously wrong (Nothing lives on top of Mount Olympus etc) or does not comport with the reality we know of.

An Omiscient diety is in opposition/violation of the 'Light speed' law. Such a defintion can not exist within this reality as (Barring rather revolutionary physics discoveries) the speed of photons is the upper limit as to just how fast infromation can progogate across our reality. Hence... nothing can match the defintion of 'Omiscience'.

Hope that description helps. Big Grin

Cheers.

See, this is why I have trouble taking atheism seriously... Is this really one of the reasons why you don't believe in God? Hahahahaahahahhaahahahhahahahaaah... Wow.

There's like 50 different things wrong with that argument and even if I explained all 50, you still wouldn't learn a thing--or you'd just gloss over it and move to something else.

Atheists are bonkers. That's why I truly believe something emotional is going on.

Wrong, one needs (good) reasons to believe in shit, not the opposite. Reasoning 101 . You are trying to shift the burden of proof.

So, you don't have any good reasons to not believe in God? I believe it. I bet you don't believe in God for emotional reasons. I explained this in a previous post.

Nice try tho.

Why is it that no one whines more about religion, theists, and indoctrination than other theists, while having no good reason to believe?

You don't need evidence to not believe in some proposed deity whose definitions made up by humans they can't possible prove true, crammed into a made up knowledge about a pre universe state they cannot know anything about.

If theists believe a made up deity did it, and are happy replacing 'I don't know, and cannot know' with a made up god then here's a link you will enjoy.

It's true, we don't have a single reason, good or otherwise to not believe in a god, for that and for an emotional response a god would have to be shown to exist.

I am English where believing in gods is rather niche. We are mostly not religious so I never believed.
Did you know that in the UK religious people are seen as less moral than atheists.

Mainly because we don't need any . It remains a fact that he and the sum total of apologetics have failed to produce a good reason to believe in god . So i don't . As for accusing you emotional reasons . I ironcally propose that this itself is an emotional attack or at least there is as much reason to believe that as the nonesense he's proposing

RE: God Exists
It's certainly true and fair to say people have been hurt both physically and emotionally by by those who call themselves Christians or any theist for that matter, one only has to look at the news for that.

There are many reasons why people give up religion, but the old 'You're angry at god' thing is just redirection to the inadequacy of the idea of a god to explain anything at all.  Don't mistake anger at religion with anger at god.

Most atheists are no more angry at god, than they are say superman for not saving the people in the twin towers for instance. This is what happens when people make stuff up about themselves and imagined afterlives.

I'm amused by apologetics in that it exists at all..

We supposedly have a creator of all things, who created us to worship him, allegedly put a 'god yearning' in us. This same god wants us to worship him, loves us beyond our imagination and his earnest wish is that every man be saved. Is all powerful, mighty and great, and has more glorious grandiose names than you can remember

And to bring this to fruition he brings about a sect of Christianty that attempt to talk about definitions they cannot know are true, and talk about states of creation they cannot know to be true, to explain why his existence is reasonable.

Pure comedy
