Are we becoming a masked society?

Are we becoming a masked society?
Following in the footsteps of China?

There is no doubt that C-19 changed everything, Now there are infomercials selling specialized masks for everyone.

How do we go about daily restricting our airflow with a mask? It can’t be healthy.

Obviously we're not, since we wont even wear our masks to stop the spread of covid.

No, we’re not. And I really don’t think an N95 respirator restricts enough air flow to endanger your health, given the way it operates and how little you need to wear it to stay safe.

Kit, what I'll never get my head around is why you guys (not you personally) won't social distance and wear a mask if you can't.
I know we're all going stir crazy and I know that most under 60 won't die but it's not them idiots I'm worried about.

Don't they care at all whether they may inadvertently or asymptomatically infect their older parents, family and friends and consequently kill them?
Can someone please explain the logic?

Reaching herd immunity is even dumber. Natural selection will kill the susceptible/old for a healthier herd.

How long have you guys known me? Years.

I don’t know how many times I have to say that I’m antisocial, more so now that I’m older. I don’t go anywhere, not even to the store. The boyfriend does all the shopping. When I’m at work, a nursing home, of course I wear a mask. Yet, thankfully, I’m working at a Corona-free facility; we were all recently tested.

We're seeing a massive spike in covid because people are not wearing masks, and are not distancing. Your corona free facility may not be corona free for long.

We’re still not allowing visitors, not even family.

How long do you think a test provides safety?

And if you're antisocial I'd think that you would enjoy a masked public.

You're still allowing visitors, you're just not allowing family visitors - which is probably the worst aspect of covid as it relates to nursing homes.

Your nursing home couldn't operate without support from the outside world, which is rejecting masks and social distancing...and that's one of the ways that facilities which don't allow visitors™ have been gutted by covid. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that you and yours are doing your best - but that doesn't mean that the rest of us are.
