The Statistical Improbability (Just My Luck)

I don't need to be the biologic to be a loving father/provider. I've done it both ways. When it comes to the kid(s), same, same.

But I'd definitely have trust issues with the SO if this was planned and they didn't let me know upfront or tried to put one over on me. I'd probably get over it eventually but doubt things would ever be exactly the same (I can forgive, not so much forget). And I'm not a big fan of unconditional love when it comes to SO's. Plus, if not a biologic, a third party may enter the mix.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Best of luck!

I know what you're saying.

It would break my heart if she had done something.  I'm very certain that this isn't the case based on what I know about her.  She really is an amazing woman.

That being said, I am a man of facts and science.  If a test comes back clean, I will be demanding paternity.  I already had this discussion with her.  She said she's fine with doing the paternity and to please get the test because people won't believe this is for real otherwise.

I'll believe that a woman who wanted kids got pregnant. Will you love a woman like that? I'm just spitballing here so that you're prepared.

It could be great. You're the person who decides how it's going to be. These opportunities are rare in life, when we have complete control of outcomes.

Any logical woman would understand why a guy would have testing done....

20,000 to one is some damned long odds.

Of course if the kid is his - and she knows it - she might not like him getting it checked out - but should certainly understand it. A really thoughtful logical woman would insist he does get the test - and he is gonna owe her big when he finds out the kid is his....

The only one who would object is a woman who is illogical - or guilty of screwing around.

-and there it is. If a woman decides to fulfill some deep biological urge, she's trash. She's guilty.

If they're SO's it still comes down to honestly or deceptively.

Sure. Because SO-ship is based on deep and unflinching honesty, and trumps all biological imperatives. I really don't know what else to say. The odds of a man who's had a vasectomy siring some specific child are too ridiculous to consider. We must be talking about something else, if we're talking about that.

Honestly, what are we doing here? "Don't worry, it's yours". whaaaaaat?

He's here and he posted this because it matters to him. Take your swings, but...please, know what you're swingin at.

Congratulations!  Happy quarantine baby.  I hope holding the newborn transforms you the way it did me.

What an odd conversation about odds.  What are the odds that a woman, knowing her man had been snipped, would cheat, become pregnant, and expect her man to not do testing?

THAT'S what I'm saying.

And she's telling me to do the test.  I even got the script from HER gynecologist lol

Never played chicken before?

I truly and deeply hope that it's yours. If it isn't.....I truly and deeply hope that you remain you and do what you would do if it were.
