Although most likely for political reasons, even MAGA republicans were calling out the injustice.
These LBGT advocacy groups preach how LGBT are often victims of violence, yet when it's white LBGT perpetrating violence on Black LBGT AND NOT BEING PUNISHED, can't get so much as a tweet from GLAAD, or any other LBGT organization that's supposed to be ADVOCATING... Look at the dates from the tweets I posted genius, if I had been talking about the second death, don't you think I would have also Included tweets after that too?
The point was, there were people calling out the injustice in the first case, long before any white LBGT organizations.
You guys seriously have trouble with reading comprehension, I mean damn...🤣

Me: ‘Are you going to learn something new from your mistake and reframe your position in light of new information, or double down on inane semantic arguments that make no sense because you can’t admit you were wrong?
@ Huggy Bear : ‘I’m going to double down on inane semantic arguments that make no sense because I can’t admit I was wrong, like implying that that the LGBTQ community was racist in 2017, then not racist in 2019, then turned back to racist in 2021, rather than simply acknowledging the fact that most (not all) people thought the first death was likely a drug overdose, but then the second death in the same manner was exponentially more suspicious and attracted more attention.’
Do you hear yourself, lol?
Either way, the only one with reading comprehension issues is you. You clearly can’t even comprehend your own claims that were thoroughly refuted in post #1156 unless, as myself and @ Rev. Rye have been asking, you can provide a list of these alleged white-only LGBTQ groups you say exist. If you can’t, your entire premise collapses in on itself, and I imagine if you could, you would have done it by now.
It’s been a genuine pleasure refuting your arguments as usual, Hugz. But if you feel up to it, continue to endlessly spin semantic nonsense in the face of facts and common sense until there’s nothing left of your original proposition that white LGBTQ people didn’t care about Ed Buck, and further embarrass yourself in front of everyone. I enjoy the entertainment.

The thing is, Huggy, that you have a spectacular knack for missing point. I don’t believe anyone in this thread has denied or disputed that members of the black, LGBTQ community experience racism and oppression, just as the straight, cis black community does. No one has made that claim. You made a vague insinuation that advocates of the LGBTQ community are motivated by racism, and you made an explicit claim as evidence; that no “white” LGBTQ groups spoke out against Ed Buck’s crimes which, for the fourth or fifth time now, unless you can demonstrate these whites-only LGBTQ groups and prove they weren’t part of the LGBTQ and ally coalition that called for Buck’s arrest, has been soundly and thoroughly refuted. Can you just admit you were wrong about that particular situation and we can move on?
I like Dave Chappell. I always have. I think he’s an intelligent guy and a comedic genius. I appreciate him shining light on the struggles of the BPOC LGBTQ community, because I didn’t really know very much about that brand of strife until recently. Sadly though, he seems to have a roadblock in his mind when it comes to trans people. It’s ironic that the narrator in this video mentions that BPOC deserve to be treated with the same nuance and complexity as the gay and trans community, and yet Chappell absolutely does not afford trans people any nuance or complexity in his set when he asserts in the face of complex scientific research concluding otherwise, that gender is a fact, and that vagina = woman. He continues to delegitimize, as he did in his previous Netflix special, the existence of trans identities, and this hurts the trans community, black and white. Period. Irrespective of what ever racial issues exist within that community.
So, why can’t we focus on supporting the trans community; white as well as BPOC; and also target racism toward BPOC in the broader LGBTQ community? Why do you see this as “one or the other?”
Is it because, like Chappell, you also don’t take trans individuals seriously?

@ Huggy Bear
Since allegedly, you’re so concerned with the well-being of the black LBGTQ community, I’d like to hear some ideas from you about how we can combat the devastating issue of discrimination, oppression and violence against trans people of color (black trans women in particular) rampant in this country right now. Thoughts?

Quote:Black transgender people had an extremely high unemployment rate at 26 percent, two times the rate of the overall transgender sample and four times the rate of the general population.
A startling 41 percent of Black respondents said they had experienced homelessness at some point in their lives, more than five times the rate of the general U.S. population.
Black transgender people lived in extreme poverty with 34 percent reporting a household income of less than $10,000 per year. This is more than twice the rate for transgender people of all races (15 percent), four times the general Black population rate (9 percent), and eight times the general U.S. population rate (4 percent).
Black transgender people were affected by HIV in devastating numbers. More than one-fifth of respondents were living with HIV (20.23 percent), compared to a rate of 2.64 percent for transgender respondents of all races, 2.4 percent for the general Black population, and 0.60 percent of the general U.S. population.

Quote:Violence against Black trans women has been accurately described as “a pandemic within a pandemic.” This summer, six Black trans women, all under the age of 32, were murdered in the span of nine days. Their deaths are part of a horrifying pattern; hate crimes against transgender and gender non-conforming individuals have been on the rise for years, with the number of murders in 2020 already almost surpassing that of 2019. Of the 26 victims so far this year and the 27 victims last year, the majority have been Black trans women under the age of 30.
