I know, but for sure, most other presidents would have seen what is going on in Portland and other cities as an opportunity to look presidential.

He did, and he took it. This is what being presidential looks like to that set.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The mob is the problem? Here I thought it was black people being shot by cops unjustly and never getting punished for it.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

Even if he did (unlikely) 1/2 the country would reject anything he said as "lies, half truths and hollow words just uttered for political gain".

As would the other side were the positions reversed.

Yes.

The mob is the problem.

As are the people who think they are justified.

.....

Nobody ever said the cops are free to murder people.

They are to be held to account.

Well, yes, that is try OLB. The president in question would have to have a history of authenticity and then go forward on creating policy to effect change. Hopefully Biden (yeesh) rises to the occasion?

What policy would a president effect?

"Everybody be nice?"

Ultimately this president - as well as any other president - can't legislate.

We decided a long time ago that isn't a good idea..

-also part of the job.

If he didn't want it he shouldn't have taken it. It's alot more than half, though.

Strange how you never bleat so bitter when it is Trump or his ilk inconveniencing their betters, you disingenuous moron.

I think Trump is just as fucked up as you ...

Almost.

I appreciate the sentiment.   I know how much you would worship someone almost as fucked up as trump.

I'll ignore the first two sentences

They can work with legislature to originate policies.

It is by design that they can work within the system to enact change.

Sure - except we have a divided legislature with both sides pretending they have the moral high ground...

Sorta like a pig bragging that his side of the pen smells best.....
