I am so sick of the bullshit "starter job" argument. Who the fuck do assholes who use that argument think are working at those "starter jobs" when teens and college students are in class?

My x wife had a PHD in microbiology, but also divulged to me that she had classmates whom ended up working at Starbucks.

NOBODY is faulting success. But life is still life. I am simply sick of assholes who shit on the shoulders they stand on.

And my argument ISN'T arguing a dishwasher should make the same as a CEO or neurosurgeon, and only an idiot would think I am arguing that.

I am arguing that no mater the job, the more stable the pay is that meets the cost of living, the better off all society is. 

Oh and don't fucking talk to me about being a dishwasher, I damned sure know you couldn't fucking handle it.

I was listening to a Joe Rogan and Patton Oswalt talking on the Joe Rogan Experience and he had an interesting idea. What if the US flex was that nobody in the US needed anything, like, everyone had enough food, plenty of healthcare, and a place to live. I liked that idea.

It is true that all the jobs that people do are important, but what, really, is your point?

Easy to learn, and easy to do during low volume DOES NOT translate to easy to do during high volume.

EVERY FUCKING JOB you can think of, takes skill. Of course a dishwasher should not make the same as a neurosurgeon, but that same neurosurgeon isn't going to wash dishes or even know how to, on a slam fuck busy breakfast restaurant on Easter Sunday.

I outlasted every single manager while working at a major pizza chain in the late 90s. I also outlasted every single dishwasher at my last long term job. 

I hate  to burst everyone's bubble here, but the days of lifetime careers regardless of position or class, are growing fewer and fewer.

I started working (illegally) at 11 years old - doing assembly work. I was soldering electrical components by the time I was 12. I did farm work too - including tossing 70 lbs square hay bales. At 15 I got my first job in food service at $1.35 an hour - washing dishes - cooking chicken and fish and cleaning deep fryers. I worked 2 years in food service (while going to high school) averaging 20 hours a week work. I then did a few years in retail - first musical instruments then high performance auto parts. (Sell what YOU know and like). At 19 I went off and joined the Coast Guard. (The circus wouldn't have me) After that I apprenticed and worked as a machinist specializing in one-off machining and prototype work.

I know more about work and life in general than your pathetic cave dwelling ass shall ever know...
