Hate to tell you, but that’s not what Trump said. He said trees lay on the ground, dry out, and ‘just explode’. His meaning was that the spontaneous explosion of dead trees was the cause of the wild fires.

hate to tell you, under no circumstances would i ever say trump is not wrong, even if he is not wrong, which, fortunately, has never been seen to occur. but that doesn’t mean i will refrain from nitpicking other people.

Yet another example of president good brain being incapable of getting right, even if there really was a way to be right.
Trees do explode, it's a thing, not the dry ones. You see it alot when you're fishing a swamp.

I’ve also heard of (but never seen) sugar maples exploding during a rapid freeze. No idea if it’s true or not.
