Going nowhere fast beats going to hell fast.   You have to pull hard to get any of what you want.   If everything you want can be given up, what do you stand for?    You stand for merely maintaining the fascade of a failed state, and will give up Anything, everything And anyone to paste over the cracks in the facade so as to pretend the other side had not already torn down everything Of substance behind the facade?

the reason why we are going the way We are is those who claim to be for good Find they can live with the evil while those who are for evil will absolutely not live with the good.   in the end we all effectively become evil, except unlike the republicans who ostentatiously glory in it, we meekly complain about it.

Yes, there was plenty of room for growth early on and when there is plenty there is little need to battle for resources. Although this was disastrous for the indigenous people.

This country has developed a system to bamboozle those that draw the short straw, so nothing to see here.

You see, I am disgusted by what I have seen in the country from both sides. I lean very progressively so I side with Dems mostly, but there needs to be collaboration between the sides. We need to quit hallucinating slippery slopes and find balance. Right now both sides are whipping up their base to convince them that the other side will ruin the nation and THAT just isn't true. We are all the heros of our story we just need to find a way to steer the ship towards what is best for the most people. This is not going to happen because the huge corporations, and the wealthy people that run them OWN this country.

More judges means less will get done which means all kinds of shit will just slip through the cracks.

I didn't say that or even imply that.
I didn't say you said it . I asked if you consider that a good alternative ?

You think Canada is a place that collaborates ? We couldn't even get reform conservatives and progressive conservatives to get along for over a decade . Hell Alberta and Saskatchewan have a separatist movement now . We have plenty of political divisions and feuds .

I'm really just saying we need to figure out a way to avoid going to bonkersland to get what we want. The reason Trump won was because the Dems went with a centrist instead of Bernie. I think Bernie could have done it, just like he could have done it this time. I'm supporting Biden because he is more favorable than Hillary (I voted for her anyway). Hopefully we can block their appointment until after Joe takes office. If Trump wins, well, I dunno I guess I'll have fun watching Oregon burn no matter who gets elected.

This isn't just happening in America, I see it even in Scandinavian countries - the so called very progressive godless secular nations. I'm no political scientist, but if I can see this trend happening all over the world, what the hell are we even fighting for? The fascists around the world aren't even pretending to care about maintaining a facade. If we don't take our gloves off now, there will be hell to pay.

we’ve been in the very heart of bonkersland since 2016.  Almost half of the country, and one of two governing party, thinks what they want can only be obtained by giving control of half of the world’s nuclear weapon to Bonkers psychopath who is in perhaps the bottom 30% of population in terms of knowledge of the world, and perhaps the bottom 5% of the population in terms of psychiatric health and emotional fitness.    You can’t get much more bonkers than this, even in North Korea.

The only question is, in bonkersland with nuclear weapons, will the sane still let the bonkers rule in the name of moderation and cooperation?

To get out of bonkersland, you don’t defer to the bonkers.

It seems that you are trying to make me the opposition even though I largely agree with you. I at least am not happy with things going on. I'm not sure what needs to be done. it DOES look like we are heading towards civil war, so I guess I need to stock up on ammo? That will not be good for anyone though except the warlords that will profit.

I keep saying it, but it's not a civil war when only one side wants to kill the other. It's an extermination. It's easier than people think.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I've heard enough from both sides in the news and on my personal FB page to know that both sides are thinking about eliminating the other side so, yeah, civil war.

But what about the considerable difference in gun ownership and training?

Your lib buddies getting the guns and ammo situation squared away?  How many concentration camps have yall built? What is the premise of left wing insurgency and how will that threat be effected?
