Another story from the "Dumbass" files, me.

So flipped it over, popped in the four plastic wheel guards onto the bottom base. Each had a hole I had to put a screw in to hold the guard to the base. The screws were so fucking tight and the flathead was smaller than the slits in the screws. So took me forever to screw them in. Only after did I find the right sized screwdriver which would have made it go quicker.

But wait, act now and we will double your offer with the same vac, story part two.

Ok so I had no problem assembling anything else. So I connect the hose, turn it on, and THE DAMNED THING IS BLOWING AIR, NOT SUCKING... I freaked out. Yea yea yea, but only for a second, then I realized the vac had two hose ports, one for blowing and one for sucking.

Why didn’t you get the proper screwdriver BEFORE you started putting the wheels on?

Why do you need a shop vac? Mine is used almost exclusively for sawdust collection in the shop (cyclone-type system).

See title of thread.

I did look but couldn't find it. I didn't want to waste all day trying to find it.

I bought a shop vac because it was cheaper than a vacuum cleaner and I have very little carpet in my house. Shop vac works quite well on a vinyl faux wood floor. Great for dust bunnies behind the couch and behind the fridge and oven.

A mini for in the house. A 12 gallon for the garage and a wet vac for the syrup building....

Mine’s a 16 gal Ridgid. Easy to uncouple from the dust collector if I need it somewhere else.

I built my dust collector for my sandblast cabinet.

It's similar to a Torit in construction. Wood/plywood construction with a squirrel cage blower and 4 - meter long sock type 10 micron filters...

I saw the title of the thread, but that doesn’t explain why you didn’t get the correct tool before you started the job. Do you not keep all your tools in the same place?

I'm lucky to be able to fit all my tools on 40 acres...

I built mine for the table saw, the chop saw, the jointer, the planer, the router table, the band saw, and the spindle sander. I seriously considered going with the inline blowers (I think that’s what you meant by ‘squirrel cage’?) but that would have meant more to power and clean, considering the amount of dust I produce.

I certainly don’t have 40 acres worth. But I’ve got a lot and - unlike Brian - at least I know where the fuckers are.

bold mine - did you really ask that?

For my older daughter's second birthday I got her a toy grocery cart...some assembly required.  That wasn't a problem but I was a young single mom and didn't happen to have any tools.  I managed to put it together with a butter knife for a screwdriver and a pair of chunky heels as a hammer.  Though it worked fine and stayed together through two more kids and a few moves across the country...I did put together an essentials tool kit.

A squirrel cage is a centrifigal turbine..

Good for high volume low speed with low noise.

Just not to create another separate thread, because THIS time it wasn't me, but still embarrassing.

Ok, so I take the cab to my local grocery store, buy some stuff, and my debit card works. BUT, I forgot kitty litter. I go back I grab it, scan it, hit pay, and "CARD DECLINED"....... Shit, so I try again. "CARD DECLINED" again..... FUCKITY FUCK! All I could think was, "How the hell am I going to pay the cabby?

So I walk back to the cab, with the stuff I did pay for, and tell her what happened. Fortunately for me I am a very frequent customer and they know I have more than one account. She was willing to wait until the bank opened in the morning and pick up the fair tomorrow. But, I told her to stop by the ATM anyway so I could check my balance. AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW, I wasn't out of money on that debit card, it was a card reading error at the grocery store. Happy ending, I was able to pay her, I had plenty of money on that card.
