Another story from the "Dumbass" files, me.

RE: Another story from the "Dumbass" files, me.
I was lucky yesterday. I didn't have enough money on my regular debit card, so I had planned on using the debit card which the plasma agency pays me with. But when I got to the check out, I had forgotten that and attempted to use my regular debit card. Thankfully it was declined, instead of going through and overdrafting my account.

We now return you to the Dumbass files already in progress.

I almost burned down my house this morning. Fortunately I caught it.

Ok, so I am boiling water to make coffee, but forgot to remove some rubber kitchen gloves I left on the stovetop. Fortunately it wasn't but a short time when I turned around and noticed my carelessness.

As my friend Joanne has said about me in the past, "You are a hot mess."

Get help. Not bagging on you, not criticizing you, not complaining about you.

But seriously...get help.

Oh will you please stop. There is nothing wrong with me. This isn't an age thing. I have been a Klutz my entire life, even as kid and teen.

You take things way too seriously.  I was over exaggerating. The worst that would have happened is the glove would have melted and caused a smell and since I was sitting nearby I would have smelled it, and merely ruined the gloves.  I never go to sleep with the stovetop on.

It’s not just this once incident, mate. It seems like your ADHD is getting more and more serious. You should really give some thought to talking to a professional about it.

Leaving the gloves on the stove and then turning it on isn't a klutz thing...it's a not paying attention thing. Now your ADD is costing you money and could have cost you your home and your life.

But that didn't happen.

Again, you are blowing this way out of proportion.

Nothing would have gotten out of control considering I was sitting right next to it awake. I never leave the stovetop unattended. People cook things all the time and face away from the stovetop while preparing things and or watching tv. Pretty sure everyone reading this has accidently burned food, or let the pot boil over.

There is absolutely nobody reading this that doesn't have accidents.

Now if you want to talk about serious risk, my late mother when I was a kid and teen used to smoke in bed, and I would constantly find her asleep with the cigarette having fallen out of the ashtray on the night stand. I finally put my foot down and yelled at her that she needed to stop doing that. She finally agreed to not smoke in bed and even went as far as to only smoke outside.

And if you must know, I never cook with oil ever. Some people are comfortable with doing that, but not me.

If you don't care about yourself then I am not going to waste a minute worrying about you.

Knock yourself out...just don't endanger anyone else, or your cat.

Boru, your intent is not the issue. The fact is you do not live with me in person, and are making judgements from afar.

The people I see and know and talk to on a daily bases know I do the things you read in this post, and they are not concerned one bit. You are taking this thread way too seriously.
