That's an apt description of ad hoc, you complete and utter moron.

Try again, fool.

I suggest you take it easy. You're butchering these fallacy terms, really. There is no appeal to authority involved, I am overemphasizing his reasoning skills which couldn't help him when confronting his kids. There is no argument from ignorance either, he's actually trying to prove a positive assertion, that one of his kids actually ate the dinner, a very plausible assertion, and the most reasonable one if he's sure no one broke into his house or something similar.

What's so "ad hoc" about your kid going to the toilet and flushing his damn feces before you get home ? I mean seriously.

Shifting the Burden of Proof, as well as Fallacy fallacy. Got more?

Take a deep breath, pal. And re-read this garbage before sending it. Emptying one's intestines is usually not labeled as "fallacy".

Whether you do or don't see kids eating dinner - is mundane.  Seeing, mundane.  Dinner.  Mundane.  Kids, mundane.  Seeing or not seeing kids eat dinner........

......mundane.

That's a word we use to refer to the category of things that we are discussing.  Get it?

All right. I thought of the word mundane as a synonym of trivial.

No, We got it. It was simply stupid, And here's actually the sequence of events.
1. You came up with a stupid puzzle
2. Good solutions were proposed that solved
3. You then negated those solutions by "Upgrading" (making shit after the fact ) the scenario
4. We decided if you're allowed to "upgrade" things so are we and we did and we solved the puzzle  (and no one was furious we all found it hilarious )
5.Now your bitching we didn't solve it your way. So you can pretend to be clever and say "see your logic and science are useless embrace unthinking intuitions for no reason and believe my baseless assertions about god. Because you already played this card and it just as disappointing now as then.

Nope because having expectations of god would imply I believe in him. So a stupid statement to end a stupid apologist ploy.

Easy.

The alien doesn't exist and is just part of the childrens' imagination because they can't get over the fact that their existence is finite.

This fact scares them and they seek validation for their existence through fantasy.

Quote:Now we're getting somewhere. And why is it mundane, sir ? How can such trivial matters resist any attempt to give a logical proof ?
It didn't. We resolved the scenario without having to play by your rules. It's truly amazing the intellectual pretzels you'll tie yourselves into to try a negate the burden of proof.

Oh. And you think you got over the fact that your existence is finite ? The denial of death is a subconscious process and it doesn't help if you are an atheist. We just replaced this subsconscious process by belief in a deity, for good reasons -which are, by the way, equivalent to reasons for believing in any external truth. I am referring to Plantinga's God and other Minds here.

And, before you start prentending to have some mental strength we know from psychology nobody can possibly have, I have another book recommendation for you : read the Denial of death by Ernest Becker, it's a good book.

It's called acceptance of the inevitable.

Can't control it. Can't stop it.

Why invent an imaginary friend to calm you about it?

Nope, but there pretty much has to be alot of trivially true things about the mundane and the divine world.  Triviality is something that you should be comfortable with.  Your beliefs revolve around the trivial-called-mundane.

How we should live...our life. What is and is not not verboten...in this life. Every second of every day of this mundane life, and it probably isn't the case that all of those seconds are consequential. That all of those decisions are consequential.

Your god draws the line at the deli aisle, for example. That's mundane and trivial. Do you really have an issue with divine triviality, or do you have an issue with people calling divine triviality trivial, as it is?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yup, why be afraid of what's inevitably going to happen? It doesn't take strength to accept mortality or death it requires a change in how you see them.
