This was Ashli E. Babbitt, an Air Force veteran from the San Diego area. She was 35. As a decorated Iraqi campaign vet, she should have known how wrong she was to invade the capitol of her own country. It was said that she saw how people lived in other countries and was grateful for the freedoms of a US citizen, but as we all know and Republicans have regularly reminded us, those freedoms come with personal responsibility. Ashli demonstrated poor judgement yesterday. It is a shame that a woman who served in the military, was deployed in foreign countries and was not even in her 40's is now dead because she lost sight of what it is to be an American. She was a libertarian. That's great; there are a lot of great ideas that come from that political POV. But she lost track of that because she fell under the spell of one Donald J. Trump. Numerous people, dozens of them, have spoken out about how selfish and disloyal Trump is and all of them who have fallen out of favor of him have expressed deep regret for every following him. It is a cult of personality, not much different than that of Sun Myung Moon and Jim Jones. Our country needs people like Ashli, with the experiences she had. But we need to them to stay sane and not follow demagogues.
It's said she often used the phrase WWG1WGA, meaning, "Where We Go One, We Go All", but that only applied to QAnon people. What about the rest of America? She served in the military of the USA, not the UST (United States of Trump). How can such a person become so infatuated by another person that they can compartmentalize everything they know about honor and justice? She didn't do what she did because of a personal indignity or a family member who experienced racial discrimination. How anyone can justify such action is beyond me. What she expected to happen, I have no idea. It is a shame that she had to meet her end, but she put her own life on the line and she did it for the biggest nutjob in this entire country.
Why is it so?

That is -exactly- why the magats are doing what they're doing. Discrimination, rights abrogation, stigmatization and the denial of pride, loss of self-esteem, and racial elimination.
Trump didn't do anything to her or anyone else. He's just a mascot for who they actually are, no matter how much we refuse to believe it. This shit kills me, because their social media pages are basically a stream of consciousness set of notes on a criminal conspiracy - just like a bunch of the dirtballs that the fbi is putting posters up for are pretty well known streamers. Not exactly gonna take a fuckin manhunt to find them, and we don't need a team of psychologists to determine their motivations.
They've all been very vocal about all of this from the start.

Explain. How are people like Ashli experiencing discrimination, rights abrogation, stigmatization, denial of pride, loss of self-esteem (isn't that your own prerogative?) and racial elimination? Are you saying this is what Trump is telling them or this is what they believe is actually happening?

It's what they actually believe is happening. A majority of americans believe that whites are being discriminated against today. Not a majority of trumpits or a majority of republicans, a majority of americans. Among republicans and trumpers, a majority believe that reverse racism is worse.
They believe that their votes are being diluted by immigrants and blacks, they believe that they are being stigmatized for their whiteness and american-ness instead of their awfulness. They believe that we are being taught not to have pride in ourselves or our country. They believe that their rights are being stripped from them.
They believe that they are losing their country...and that no one consulted them on these demographic changes..as if that were a thing....what else are they supposed to do?
Trump didn't write any of that, it's borrowed copy - the recruiting mantra of contemporary white supremacy.

Remember when crazy conspiracy theorists wore tin foil hats so you could easily recognize them? Now they walk among us.

OK, I follow you. Yes, I agree that many, many white Americans believe this. I find it to be hilarious because I grew up in a working class family in a small town and I was very, very Baptist. I experienced all the same cultural shifts they did but I don't believe what they believe. I think it's a vast gap in understanding. I also had to do a lot of learning and experiencing after I left the safety of mom and dad. I'd say I barely understood what it meant to grow up black in America until my 30's even though I had many black friends growing up. When you learn a little about actual American history, you can't help but understand that no matter how much shit you endure as a white person, you haven't experienced 1/1000th the shit that black people, native people, Asians and others experienced, including Anglo Saxon immigrants who arrived here in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The last part is the most ridiculous. I know because I've been in more conversations. Gay rights means they lost their right to discriminate against gays. Give me a break.
The first part is insidious because every citizen is supposed to have the right to vote but yeah, they don't like it when blacks vote.

You are right; this mantra has been going on since the Regan era via talk show hosts who started on AM radio of all things and now have the biggest platforms on the planet. I can't help it but I just keep seeing Rome in our current situation. A lot of the same issues, such as who has rights, who controls business, the media, religion. It's just forms of selfishness if you ask me. Are whites losing this country? Probably, but only because the country is founded on some really good ideas and it only makes sense to allow others who share those ideas to join in. If whites become the minority, then so be it. Why is that such a bad thing?
Why is it so?
