Silly cow.
I like their music as everyone knows, but no, I don't like the musicals.
But, ABBA, when they were still together, they did play in Washington D.C. when I was a kid, but my mom never would have let me go to any type of concert at that age.
My mom, after 2005, though, offered to pay for tickets where I live now for a ABBA tribute band. But that too, not the same. It is like Queen without Freddy or Van Halen without Roth.

For the record, Surfer's Paradise is also not a city or an afterlife location for surfers, and Byron Bay, one of my favourite places on Earth, isn't full of guys named Byron.
Yea, I know that only from watching the closing credits of "Absolute Deception".
This is a case on my part of "DOH!" and "Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda."
Byron Bay is awesome. But I do have to say out of all the places I went on both trips Keppel Island off the coast of Yeppoon was my absolute favorite.

Boru
How does "Gold Coast" sound like the name of a city? It sounds like the name of a national park.
It is a retrospect thing looking back at it now. But on my first trip, when Mike, friend of my late friend Bob, offered to take me to "Gold Coast", I was thinking he was going to take me to a national park, not a city beach resort.
"Gold Coast" makes me think of a national park, like "Grand Canyon".
I know better now, and that is why this thread is titled as such.

On my first trip to Australia, I fell in love with Brisbane and Victoria Point and Russell Island. So after an early tour of Brisbane, hosted by my late best friend's friend Mike, he offered to take me to "The Gold Coast". Who names a city that? When I heard those words "Gold Coast" , not knowing anything at the time, and being afraid of heights, I thought he was offering to take me to ocean side cliffs billions of feet above the ocean. NOPE, there really is a sea level city in Australia called "Gold Coast". The irony on my second trip is that Debra, my core host both trips, on the second trip, took me to Byron Bay, which is even further south than "Gold Coast".
So on my first trip I turned down Mike taking me to a second adventure to "Gold Coast", and opted for a second tour of Brisbane.
Between my two trips, my first solo trip and my second trip with HB, I stumbled across a movie called " Absolute Deception" staring Cuba Gooding Jr". It was filmed in the city of "Gold Coast". But again, on both trips I didn't know that. But just yesterday, after watching it for the 3rd time since both my trips, I was thinking at the time, I was only watching it because it was filmed in Australia. It only hit me yesterday after watching it this last time, that I missed the opportunity to actually visit the city BOTH TIMES.
YES I AM A DUMBASS.
No idea why you would seek such abuse.
Who is seeking abuse? Having a sense of humor about oneself isn't seeking abuse. Admitting one's flaws in a humorous way isn't seeking abuse. I missed an opportunity. I looked at the closing credits in the movie, and finally realized I had two opportunities to go to that beach city, and regret misunderstanding what "Gold Coast " was. Not putting myself down, or seeking abuse. I just find it part of normal life and was being silly.
Everyone has family or friends or co workers who do or say things that make one laugh. I was laughing at myself, and sharing the "Get Smart"
