Statistics is maths, not science.

You clearly have no idea how the news works. Ever heard of something called source verification?

Poor Klor. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed. Some might say he's all tool and no shed.

That statement doesn't even work in this case and my response was appropriate to the level of unfounded nonsense in his post.

Half the members on this forum are ex-Christian, that's an immediate falsification of your claim.

Christian beliefs are a set of superstitions, I'm talking about religious beliefs.  You may have noticed, for example, that different christian cults have their own ticks?  That's an expression of differences in religious beliefs between subcults.  Different sets of ideations about the sacred produce different christianities, just as they produce different moral conclusions. Atheists, for their part, can be incredibly religious.  One of the most persistent and successful religions in the world is chock full of them. You might want to ask the atheists here if they had any choice in the matter. If their faith was a thing they could or even did come and go from as they pleased. That's not how any of this works, and I would expect that even you should know that.

At any rate, are we going to hear the kinds of arguments you found compelling for the position that life is not sacred, the sacredness of life being debatable to you?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If no one believed in god-given immortal souls, abortion wouldn't be controversial.

If men were the child-bearing gender, given their political power remained, abortion wouldn't be controversial.

We should test these suppositions.

No one here is using an argument based on god-given immortal souls.
