I applaud the cops who refuse to take on your beloved "protestors". (Edit to add - they didn't quit the force - just the riot team. They would be smart to simply move to another city where they wouldn't have to put up with the bs.)
Let them burn the place down....
Baltimore cops used to have a name for it....
The Self Cleaning Oven.
Not at all. Their positions on the RRT were voluntary, and they had every right to resign. But it seems rather petulant of them to do so because one of their own has been indicted for excessive force on a citizen who had ceased to be a threat (if she ever was).
Boru No no Boru the cops are our overlords and are allowed to do whatever they want and if you challenge this they cry their little eyes out and run away.

So they traded in shitty cops for shitty cops And apparently asking not to be bad at their job and not being allowed to do whatever they want triggers them. "Let us do what we want or else!" I believe there is another group that uses that line and their name rhymes with the cob.
It isn't much worst than they had before only with few fewer crybaby cops who don't like their power complex challenged.
Yes because everyone knows portland was burned to the ground and it wasn't just a few random whose owners buildings have insurance.
You mean sanity
Last I checked Detiot actually improving quite a bit
Yeah, you Brian with all your sanity and rational thought. Everyone knows you should blindly support the police no matter what
(Bold mine)
Sorry, what?

I think Portland can do without that sort of ‘help’.

I just watched Platoon last night and I’m convinced that I’d rather entrust my city’s safety to Sgt. Barnes than a police squad who thinks shit like this is not only acceptable, but a good hill to die on.
At least some members of the 25th Infantry Division would have claimed to have had some moral qualms about what the fuck they were doing. This case? It’s like the entire fucking squad were clones of Bunny.

Or the entire squad was there - and some of them probably saw what actually happened -
Unlike YOU - who simply charges in with a canned opinion and a desire to convince people you are somehow morally superior......

Well, Officer Budworth IS on video hitting the woman in the face after he knocked her down, and after striking her in the head. From behind.
So very, very brave. No wonder his he-man buddies walked out in support of him.

So, basically the same thing you did when you started this thread, except from a different ideological perspective, and a moral compass that isn’t totally fucked.

Boru But Buro were not to trust our own eyes. Were to trust the say-so of the cops. who of course no incentive to lie

Yeah because they're totally unbiased and reliable. Oh, wait didn't start making cops wear cameras because we didn't trust their word? Because they have caught lying over and over again.

And here we have this line of logic again. Remember when you tried this same tactic to dismiss the conditions at the border camps. Yeah, how did that work out for you? The fact is you can have knowledge of an event without being there. In fact not being there is sometimes better as you have less of a vested interest in the event as you were not involved.
Oh and a fun little fact the police and their habit of escalating violence made the protest vastly worst and in many cases turned peaceful protests into riots.

A: remember this?
Admittedly, no real falsehoods, but it looks like they left shit out.
The Minneapolis PD was willing to put this out, even though the cops in question knew that there were dozens of witnesses and multiple people filming the event (including themselves) who could clearly see that the cops were responsible for his death.
B: But Sung, if the cops acted decently, he couldn’t claim to be against the protesters on a “law and order” basis.

The assumption their word would go unchallenged despite obvious counterevidence is a sign of an organization that thinks it's beyond reproach and that it can simply lie to the public and expect no repercussions. That's very scary to me
As for Biker, I imagine he can twist any act of the police to be descent because that's the axiom of the cop apologetics.

Let's check in on this thread in a year and see what changes in crime rates and police brutality cases occur in Portland compared to other cities.
