In my observation, many of the threads this person participates in go far sideways and turn mainly into a free for all of replies to rather adroit provocation.

I could be wrong but would be very surprised if this weren't the outcome of attention they're seeking, I think.

Do you mean Winter?

Oh look, a Taliban Sympathizer. You'd fit right in with the people who invaded afghanistan to being with. You guys have WAY more in common, aside from worshiping your god by a slightly different name. Your side just murders a LOT more people, and the other side WISHES they could murder a lot more people.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

It's not a bad thing to sympathize with the "barbarians" fighting Rome; actually America itself taught us lessons in fighting "oppressive invading empires", the Vietnamese taught us lessons in fighting the U.S empire, the French taught us lessons too when they fought the royals, the pattern was always the same: the empire loses and retreats and probably collapses; and a wage of media war gets unleashed on the victors.

So why would I buy the anti-Taliban propaganda? I already know that the battle is not over yet; and there will be huge discredit against anything good the Taliban does; that's why I invite people to read the history of previous wars against empires.

Ignore the propaganda; believe in facts.

I just don't get what all of your posting is about.  Do you actually believe that Afghanistan is about to embark on an era of prosperity and improvement for it's people?
Why is it so?

I'm with Bob on this one. If we're in the business of believing in facts rather than propaganda, with respect to the good the taliban has done or will do - it should be relatively simple to present an example or a hypothetical.

It's easy to do so in the case of the us in afghanistan, regardless of what one thinks about the us or us occupation in general. Quadrupled economy, nine times the children in schools, nearly thirty times the number of secondary school graduates. Even if there were no improvements in human rights this alone is a game changer for the people of a country, but, ofc..there has been such improvement, fueling those increases, no less. On the purely administrative side, there's the issue of a toehold into global policitcs that a regime seen to be illegitimate simply doesn't have - and how that empowers a country to pursue it's interests in that global community more effectively (to whatever extent it can, ofc).

Is there a plan that you're aware of from the taliban to even retain these gains, let alone make further improvement? I want to be clear here in what it is you might coonsider as improvement, even. If it boils down to your hating one group of people or one country so much that you'd sacrifice the citizens of another on the altar of seeing the first group inconvenienced or embarrassed (or whatever you think has happened) - well..that's just a non starter - to me.

I'd say this type of elaboration isn't just useful for an islamist cheering on the demise of his fellow muslims, but for the large amount of people in the west generally and the us particularly who were always opposed to this sort of intervention in afghanistan (or anywhere else, even).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

So let's say that the Taliban are doing wonderful things: giving freedom of speech, giving women equality, opening to modern science and education, letting in democracy, tolerate other religions, etc. Why and how would someone censor that and replace it with false propaganda?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I believe that the decision of "how to live" should be given to the people of the land.
What America did was identical to "enforced religious conversion"; i.e Islamic Ummayad invasion of Europe & Christian crusades.
