I don't know about you folks, but my wife told me about someone suing Starbucks because the "Pumpkin Spice Latte" didn't have pumpkin in it.  Huh

struth!
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

You can usually tell how comfortable one's life is by what upsets them the most.

True, but that level of ignorance is still appalling. BTW, I'm glad that you guys made it through an epic hurricane. I suspect that the "1/1000 odds" are going to be higher in the future.

According to a nurse at work, it's absolutely impossible for a hurricane to directly hit this area. It's elementary science, she says.

We thought the same about Ft. Jackson when we got clobbered by Hugo.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
