That one's actually valid. Peanuts aren't actually nuts, and it's weird that we treat those woody little tubers as if they were. So people with nut allergies can sometimes eat peanuts if they haven't been contaminated with tree nuts.

But it says ‘peanut butter may contain peanuts’, not ‘peanut butter may contain nuts’.

That's all well and good, but this particular observation says nothing about any other kind of "nuts", besides peanuts.  That's the irony.
