Yup, he has an entire book devoted to how Islam is destroying the Uhmerican way. This is why you look like an imbecile.

Well, I'm still an atheist and I'm not dead.

Not yet.

You don't need to be a physicist to recognize a logical fallacy. Krauss equivocates by using a misleading a title, and unfortunately for him, plenty of atheists are not intelligent enough to understand its real meaning.

Dumbass, it's only an equivocation if he uses the word nothing in multiple senses in his argument. That you or someone else attaches a different meaning to the word doesn't make it an equivocation. This is why all your bluster about the triumph of theology and death of atheism is nothing more than dust. You're dumber than a sack full of hammers.

Islam is incompatible with democracy because Muslims don't trust each other to have a democracy.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Do you agree with me, @Astreja, that Krauss is a dumbass when it comes to understanding the word nothing ?

This accusation against Dawkins is in Wikipedia, but, it's just one medievalist who is making it. As a layperson interested in Medieval studies, I think that Professor Dawkins was addressing the modern interpretation of Aquinas' Five Ways and not trying to perform some historical analysis of high Medieval Catholic theology.

In short, the accusation against Dawkins is unfair.

I've found that atheism is thriving and growing throughout the world. In nearly every major city you can find multiple atheist groups. A quick Google search will net you many groups around the world that do outreach for anyone in need.

Freedom from religion foundation has been going strong for 45 years.

The atheist experience call in talk show has been expanding and growing year after year. Many atheists who freed themselves from religion started by watching that show and asking themselves some tough questions.

"How do I justify my belief ?"
"Why do I believe the things I believe ?"

Many polls in the past few years show atheism on the rise.
Even when people aren't ready to use the word atheist they will identify as non religious.

Atheism is alive and well, but I hope for a day in which religion itself dies away and rational thinking can reign once again.

The Five Ways look an awful lot like unsupported assertions to me - stuff we regularly discard as PRATTs. Perhaps in Aquinas's day they were convincing, but not anymore.

I've never thought of atheism as alive, to me it's puzzling that one should think it's dead (as in was once alive), how can something that defines itself as 'without belief' or 'unconvinced' about something be alive.

Maybe it's a reaction to the so called New Atheist movement, which while I'm grateful for because it jolted me out of belief is no different from anyone else's lack of faith.

No one has point this out, and so, I will; but, here are the credentials of the author, Eric Metaxas, "Is Atheism Dead?":

Quote:Metaxas was born in the New York City neighborhood of Astoria, Queens and grew up in Danbury, Connecticut. He graduated from Yale University (1984, B.A., English).[2][3] While there, he edited the Yale Record, the nation's oldest college humor magazine. Metaxas lives in Manhattan with his wife and daughter.[4] He is Greek on his father's side and German on his mother's; he was raised in a Greek Orthodox environment.[5]

As an aside, Dr. William Lane Craig was a communications major at Wheaton College.
