I can hold a job (just over 100K annually), don't do drugs, own a house, am current on all my bills, hold an active DoD Secret clearance, do not have a criminal record of any kind, was elected to National Honor Society, have never had a speeding ticket, have five children with my sole and only spouse of 25 years and am a former member of Mensa.

You may not like my views, but, please do not infer that my mental health is of any concern.

Actually, he implied it, you inferred it.

And nothing you listed has any bearing on your mental health. Nikola Tesla, for example, managed to be both an unmitigated genius and crazy as a barn full of clown pubes at the same time.

Full disclosure for Belacqua: I stole ‘crazy as a barn full of clown pubes’ from Patton Oswalt.

I didn't infer it; I denied it.

My mental health is completely sound. The DSM-V requires tangible behaviors (substance abuse, getting arrested, not being able to hold a job, etc.) to have a mental diagnosis, or, at the very least, seeking help from a licensed professional, who needs a diagnosis code to bill one's insurance. I have not sought professional help, nor do I feel the need to do so.

I am an accomplished professional in IT with 30 years of experience. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a MBA from the University of Iowa. If you or anyone else wish to say that I have mental health issues, go right ahead; I do not care.

Now, if you would, back to the regular programming.

P.S. Nikola Tesla died penniless, feeding pigeons on a park bench in New York City, something which is definitely not in my future.

Clearly you DO care.

Actually, Tesla died in his hotel room.

In the months before he died, he was feeding pigeons. I did not mean to imply that he died while feeding pigeons, only that he "died penniless".

I only care to set the record straight.

And if it makes you feel any better, J, if I'm questioning how your mind works, it's usually (unless you're proposing something like striking against a nation that has enough nukes to end life on Earth) something like "is she on the spectrum?" And bear in mind, I'm on the spectrum myself (professionally diagnosed).

For what it’s worth, I don’t have any concerns about your mental health. Your sentence structure, on the other hand, is another matter.

Suppose I wrote, ‘Edward Q. Flooberminker died penniless, riding a roller coaster’. Your first thought might reasonably be, ‘How the hell did a penniless man buy a ticket?’

Also, since you’re interested in ‘set(ting) the record straight’, Tesla wasn’t penniless when he died. The Westinghouse corporation was paying his rent and giving him a monthly stipend equivalent to $2600 in today’s money.

I posed my question earlier, which you did not reply to. My point is the West's actions make no sense. If Biden is supplying arms to Ukraine for political reasons, that makes no sense (Biden being the exception); if the West is supplying weapons with the hope that Ukraine will win, that also does not make sense, as Russia could simply continue the war indefinitely, as no one (Ukraine included) is prepared to attack a "nuclear power".

The West's actions do not make sense; that is the point that I am trying to make here.

Russia will not continue the war indefinitely. It’ll stop when Putin dies.

One of his cronies will continue it, if only due to the sunk cost fallacy.

Usurping cronies have, historically, wished to be branded by their predecessors achievements, if at all. Not their most obvious mistakes. That's sort of the point of sweeping the broom.
