Russian Railway Networks Facing 'Imminent Collapse'
The state-owned Russian Railways faces "imminent collapse" amid a shortage of locomotives, driven by Western-imposed sanctions imposed over the war in Ukraine, a Russian Telegram channel has reported.
The sanctions have contributed to a ball-bearing shortage in Russia, which has affected locomotive maintenance in the country. This has led to a rise in malfunctions on the network's trains and an increase in the number of vehicles being suspended, Russian newspapers Vedomosti and Kommersant reported in February and March this year.

My gramps, who died in a B-17 over NW Europe in 1943, would be smiling were he alive to hear this, about ball bearings.
In other news, the Ukrainians have launched a raid towards Kursk that while not threatening may still put the Russians off-balance.

Yeah, and they've called on the international community to condemn ukraine for invading the holy and sacred territory of russia.

And with gains of up to 12 km, it's looking less like a raid and more like a prepositional attack to set the stage for a larger goal.

They wont. They're trying to get arthur in range of the supply lines between kursk and belgorod, and goad russia into glide bombing their own cities along the way. It also helps that they can achieve local air superiority in the kursk direction.
Contextualized by the recent intercept of russias head train hobo bitching and threatening subordinates - going apeshit about how their rail line runs by the grace of god and jb weld and could collapse at any moment. I hope, for a kicker, they "acknowledge" the independent state of kursk.

...and ukraine is reportedly building their own fortifications around sudzha right now, which has reportedly fallen to the tune of hundreds of russin troops surrendering, as they reportedly launch more attacks even further north.
Reportedly, in this case..by russians. Ukraine isn't saying a word about it - which might explain why russia failed to anticipate it. Either ukraine is kicking their teeth in - or the russians are freaking the fuck out. Maybe they'd be interested in getting back "sacred and inviolable russia" in return for a couple hills full of separatist cannon fodder in eastern ukraine. Maybe Vlad would like to continue being seen as a strong man with shitty employees rather than a weak loser that no amount of dead russian heroes can save.
