Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine
Since Putin's phony "denazification" never made any sense, now Russia's Security Council is calling for the "desatanization" of Ukraine.

Quote:Russian Politician Calls for ‘Desatanization’ of Ukraine

State-owned Russian newspaper TASS reported Tuesday that Aleksei Pavlov, an assistant secretary on the Security Council of Russia, has called for the “desatanization” of Ukraine.

“I believe that with the continuation of the special military operation, it becomes more and more urgent to carry out the desatanization of Ukraine,” Pavlov said.

According to TASS, Pavlov said he didn’t know how many covens of satanists there were in Ukraine but that he expected it to be in the hundreds. “Some of them were created ‘having been sharpened in advance for a specific purpose and flock’, others ‘simply existed as branches of richer patrons,’ others— ‘and did in the form of a kind of closed joint-stock company with a couple of hundred small-town adepts,’” the TASS story said, quoting Pavlov. He also highlighted the fact that the Church of Satan is an officially recognized religion in the U.S. and that its influence has been spreading in Ukraine since the 1990s.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

At this rate, I’m sure we’ll eventually hear calls for the debrassicafication of Ukraine: ‘With turnips spreading their immoral, perverted agenda, we had no choice BUT to invade. I mean, think of the children!’

If they gave a shit about any of it they'd die of embarassment....but they don't. That's the real tragedy, imo. Russia doesn't even give a shit about any reality in ukraine. This war is being pursued because a dictator who miscalculated fears for his own life and future should he quit before finding a suitable patsy to blame for his own profligate failures, and the claims that he himself has made about this war make that extremely difficult for him to do, now.

People like bel might buy any old line of bullshit but no number of them buying into it, even to the point of completely abandoning a people who are fighting for their lives in their own homes, will yield a win for Vlad. It is truly a pointless war for the aggressor...which is something that the bels of this world ought to be pretty familiar with, us as an example..and yet....

You can’t embarrass people who have no conscience. The it’s-mine-because-I-want-it mindset brooks no compassion.

The state of affairs in their own country is so shitty it's rationalizable. It's a glimpse of our own future if we continue down the path that we're currently on.

Quote:Are you aware that Kennedy solved the Cuban Missile Crisis by cutting a deal?
Russia doesn't need a deal. It needs to get the hell out of Ukraine and stop pretending it's still the Soviet Union and places like Ukraine are still it's satellites

Quote:He agreed to take American nukes out of Turkey if the Soviets didn't put theirs in Cuba.
Again NATO and Ukraine don't need to compromise because they did nothing wrong. You don't negotiate with the local bully.

Quote:Why can't the US use similar basic logic to solve Ukraine? We back off if you back
Ukraine has the right to join any defense pact it wants and NATO has the right to allow any nation into its alliance it likes. The only country that needs to back off here is Russia.

This isn't a case of two sides with reasonable issues this is one despot's crass delusions of empire and a group of other nations saying GTFO.

That’s actually a pretty good idea. If Russia agrees to back all the way out of Ukraine, then the US will agree to stop helping Ukrainians kill Russians (bearing in mind, of course that the ONLY reason Ukrainians are killing Russians is that the Russians are - wait for it - in Ukraine).

Everybody wins - Ukrainians get their country back and Russia has fewer dead troops going forward.

I like it!

RE: Russia and Ukraine
My theory is this:
Fascism was already an attempt to what I would describe as “return the world to its previous state”. That is to recreate a world in which a group of people make decisions, and rest will follow suit, even if this means that the people a starving while this small group of people keep living their extreme extravagances. The human brain has some habits. Jung calls this the “collective subconscious”. So some people will always have some sort of nostalgia for the past even if they consciously know that the past would be an awful place for them to live in.
Today these people are left with very few tools. Literacy is reaching 99% in the developed world and 80% in countries like India. Even if it has many defaults we have free and independent media channels that are informing us on world events 24/7. If any country decides to block some newspaper or TV channel, we still have the Internet. So even kids in china know how to reach free media channels if they want to. So while the power of oppressive regimes seems to be increasing thanks to technologies like mass surveillance or the permanent monitoring of internet activities, it is quite the opposite that is happening because of many other developments.
So there is only one tool left in their toolbox: Dis-information. That is:
- Whatever you learn. I will make you unlearn. Whatever you hear, I’ll make sure you don’t believe it. Whatever reality you observe, I will create an alternate version to it. Wherever there is a debate, I’ll make sure that debate turns into a mere play of words. No matter how educated you are, I will surround you with so much “true” information that you will end up believing what I say.
/ And this isn’t something to laugh on. There is a whole set of technologies that are being used to achieve this aim.
- Does it really work?
- I am not sure. I mean I have talked to some supporters of far-right parties etc. But what I am not really so sure of is if these people are truly believing the things that they are saying or if they are in some sort of self-deceiving state of mind. I’d go for the second option in about 80% of the cases because one thing you can observe in such people is that they will always be looking for some sort of approval by other people. For instance you will be hearing them reaching to their friends and say things like “Hey, did you hear what these Zionist westerners have done?”. And the remaining 20% are mostly fanatics who have some sort of hatred buried in them that is the subject of Freudian psychology rather than political science.
Yet one thing is for sure: The younger the generations, the less open they will be even to this kind of distortions. As methods of distortion are growing. The speed in which we are reaching information is also growing. So again, the effectiveness of this method is also limited by time. But I think it’s still very dangerous so I think it is also important to know how to block contents (by yourself of course) when this becomes necessary. By this I mean in any type of media. I think there has to be skill that I would define as “media literacy”. I think it should be taught in schools.
