I think, distilled down to it's most basic form, the nut line is that russia should win in it's genocidal war of territorial ambition. Because america bad, or some such shit.

Bel's just going to talk and talk and talk. The bottom line is Bel hates America and wants everyone else to do the same.
Do some name dropping and find some whackaloon Youtuber to back you up and it's all grand in Bel's world.

I still don't quite understand the connection between hating murrica, and wanting ukraine to just die already, tbh.

There is no connection. It's just a way to spew more hate toward America, which is Bel's mission in life. It doesn't have to make sense. Bel's hill to die on.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. He is going to support whoever opposes the US. Yes, including countries waging war of aggression and committing war crimes to no end.
He doesnt give a shit about Ukraine and its people by the way.
Second: Its the new alt right who, for some time (and its quite a big talking point to them here in Germany) are obsessed with re-orienting European politics, with getting rid of the US and looking towards Russia (which is european, arguably). This is in and of itself not an idea to be outright dismissed, but what these nuts are doing is just trying to replace one (perceived) oppressor with another one. Looking for cooperation with CURRENT Russia, basically a dictatorship, where you have little to no personal freedoms, which is utterly corrupt and inefficient.
THATS insane and i really dont know how people are able to put blinders on and ignore it. I guess as long you dont have live under those circumstances yourself, as long as you live under the umbrella of freedom, its easy to preach from this pulpit to embrace AND PROMOTE such terrible regimes. I also think to do this is an insult to all russian peopel who have to endure this regime.
While Bel is not european afaik, he shares this insane outlook, and i would not be the least be surprised if one day it turned out to originated by Russia itself, as part of its disinformation campaign in order to create a level playing field on the international political stage.

You remember pre-2016 election? How people were warned of Trump? That he is every bit like a politician, just much, much worse? And do you remember the people defending him like "yeah, at least he is no politician"? As if not-being-a-politician was a quality in itself? Trumps intellect, personal moral values, everything about him was just worse that the worst politician, but hey, at least he wasnt a politician.
Its the same with people like Bel and the US. They root for whatever, whomever (even Russia, and i would not be surprised, North Korea or Iran), as long as it is-not-the-USA. "At least its not US or related)" is a quality in itself for those people. Ukraine is irrelevant to them, the people over there, their personal freedoms, economic status, culture, anything, completely irelevant. As long as its at-least-not-US.
Thats how morally and intellectually bankrupt their position is. And, of course, they are very useful idiots for a russian disinformation campaign. In Bels particulars case, his pathological need to appear smarter than anyone else (and smarter than he actually is, his pseudo intellectualism) made him even more susceptible to this idea.
