Russia drafts a bill to lower service age to 14.  Sure, why not.  Full on adults scraped from prison aren't working - try the middle schoolers.

I did some small research on that. Since the war began Putin decided to give mandatory weapons and military training to teenagers. But that’s about it. Hitler tried that in the past. This is war not a game cowboys vs. Indians
 
These guys on you video are all adults. Since their military training is almost non-existent, all they can do is to lie down and surrender.

That’s what was known as the second or even first military power of the world back when I was a kid. And it’s being invaded by what used to be a part of that first military might of the world.
 
+ No one knows the real intention of Ukrainians. They are keeping it secret this time so that they don’t repeat the mistakes of the spring offensive.

Yes, Hitler tried (annd for the same reasons as Putin), and towards the end of the war, Hitler Youth as young as 12 were on the lines at Normandy and The Battle of the Bulge. They suffered horrific losses in both engagements.

What makes you think the Putin Youth won’t meet the same fate?

Boys have lied about their age for years to serve. It's probably more difficult in most countries to do that now.

Requiring kids to be on the lines is a whole other thing.

You don't need a law that says 14 year olds can join unless you've run out of 14 year olds that want to lie about their age to serve. FWIW, ukraine has already reported that they find children in assault brigade pows. Juvenile offenders charged as adults were swept up in the prison purges the same as the 40yr old serial rapist next cell over.

Realistically, russia has a socio-demographic problem. They can't continue this war without child soldiers. So...you know, that's how things are going....

(and, I know, I know...child soldiers - not so uncommon, and what really -is- a child soldier anyway. Let's try this. - any combatant that would look deeply into my eyes... like an uncle... while I strangled the fucking life out of him with my fully mature hands)

Not in those spots. HJ were used around Berlin, to be sure. But the Normandy divisions -- one of which was SS Hitler Jugend -- had as its youngest 16-17-year-olds. The Ardennes offensive didn't use HJ "troops" at all; they used overaged or disabled Volksgrenadier soldiers instead.

This isn't to argue your general point, but to clarify that Hitler Youth were really only used as "soldiers" once the battlefield got into Germany.

If that report is true, probably a worse fate, tbh. At least Hitler's youth could run home. If Putin's putting 14-year-olds into Ukraine, that's a pretty hard journey back to Volgograd or wherever.

By 1945, the Volkssturm was commonly drafting 12-year-old Hitler Youth members into its ranks. During the , Axmann's Hitler Youth formed a major part of the last line of German defence

 
I really was thinking of the Battle of Berlin. Why I typed 'Battle of the Bulge' is anybody's guess. Good catch!

And you've also run out of older people willing and able to fight.

I suspect that we'll find it's children in occupied ukraine that end up being voluntold to go die at the hands of their aunts and uncles.

Due to "disagreement with the command and authority" of Russia, "Silver" then said he threw a grenade down a ventilation shaft into where his commander was sleeping. The incident took place near the town of Ocheretyne in Donetsk Oblast.
