Poland and the Baltics would like a word. The possibility of NATOnic retaliation is the ONLY thing keeping Putin from attempting more land grabs in Europe.

You get corrected daily, usually multiple times daily. Why the sudden acknowledgement, when you so rarely admit to being wrong?!?

Some of the corrections are themselves incorrect.
Sometimes I disagree with the corrections, and think there are reasons for me to stay with my original position. If this were a discussion forum, this would be an opportunity to discuss why we disagree -- we could offer reasons and evidence and talk things over. But when the "corrections" are personal insults, or someone calls me a liar, or otherwise makes it clear that they don't want a temperate discussion, then I don't respond.
Some people are so full of hate and ideology that I don't read anything they write.

You have no call upon my respect or consideration when you traffic in dishonesty and shill propaganda. You're not interested in good-faith discussion.

What does this mean? Who is "xian"?
I've provided plenty of links. You can make up your own mind.
So the other day Merz made his speech calling Russia a European country and saying that eventually relations would have to be normalized.
Since then Jens Stoltenberg, former Secretary General of NATO, has made similar comments, calling Russia a "neighbor" and calling for negotiations. While acknowledging that new security arrangements will be necessary, he makes it clear that the current situation can't go on. At the same time, he suggests that given recent statements from the US, NATO may have to go on without America in it.
Also the Czech President, Petr Pavel, while still supplying Ukraine with money and arms, said clearly that Ukraine will have to make "painful compromises" to get it all over with. He used to be Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, and for a while he was Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces. So he's not some keyboard warrior.
Anyway, these are influential people. While they never doubt that they must maintain defenses against Russia, they are starting to talk about what things will look like after Ukraine is finished.

The reality that they are facing is that no one wants to or would be able to destroy Russia by military action. That's good. Dealing with reality on its own terms is the mark of good thinking.
Meanwhile, Russia continues trying to destroy Russia, and sabotaging peace talks with attacks on civilians as well as hybrid warfare against NATO nations which have not attacked them.
