What do you think about gun control?

RE: What do you think about gun control?
What kind of a nanny state do you live in that requires " you're physically, mentally and psychologically capable of driving a car before being let behind the wheel, "???

Are helmets required for jacking off as well?

Well, the physical part is pretty obvious - if your vision is poor and can’t be corrected to a certain minimum, you can’t get a license (here, at least).

As far as mentally fit goes, you need to be able to understand traffic rules and pass a test that shows you do.

I admit, though, that the psychological bit is kind of a poser. I’ve never heard of someone being denied a license because they’re depressed or bipolar or something similar (although I imagine you could lose your license if those conditions cause issues with your driving, but even that’s kind of a stretch).

Your claim of " gun culture" is like saying " the color of the rainbow" - like there is only one....

Hate to clue you in - but opinions here differ. There is no " gun culture" - just a whole lot of people - some of which own guns.

As someone who lives in a place where every swinging dick has a fucking gun strapped to their person and as someone who's been shot at in the recent past and threatened with one in the more recent past, I beg to differ.

I would like it if it were illegal for the average citizen to own a firearm.

Depends on their medication. IDK what OLB is going on about. We already live in that country. I understand that some meds can be problematic when it comes to driving, but how would the issuing authority know? I’ve never been asked to provide a list of meds or a doctor’s note when getting or renewing my driving license.

There's alot of things the authorities wouldn't know you'd be doing that are, nevertheless, illegal. We tend to handle it at the upcharge portion of our legal system. Don't let em find out you've been driving while suffering from a condition, physical or psychological, which profoundly impacts your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Can you imagine how batshit insane - how completely and dangerously incompetent a country would have to be, that these issues were complete unknowns in law, lol? Unaddressable by law enforcement. Just, hands tied, you know...wouldn't wanna be a nanny state.

I don' t see where you are differing from my statement.

I was acknowledging your view.

Some like guns. Some don' t.

Sure, but you have to realise that the gun nuts are unaware that other counties even exist. Or what rules might apply.

Not true...there are second-rate countries followed by "shit hole" countries (COVID-19 deaths notwithstanding.)

The anti gun people are even more guilty of thiis.

Think not?

Then why are you harping about the death rate of the US when so many other countries have much higher rates per capita? (Honduras, Guatamala, ect)

Reason given by antis -

They are not first world countries.....
