A seatbelt is designed to save your life not end it, far more useful!

Your life is far more likely to be saved by a seat belt than by a gun. It’s a situational thing.

So, I looked for the study that showed 80% of Americans are in favour of the Second Amendment. It seems that, if the table on Page 65 of this PDF is your source, saying it like that is a bit misleading. 21% lean towards repealing it, 60% lean against it, and the rest are indifferent. Also worth noting, the next page asks about whether they'd be okay with modifying the Second Amendment. And how do the numbers skew in that case? 46% pro-modifying it, 39% Anti-modification, and the rest indifferent. So, maybe using an argumentum ad populum to support your position when your views are likely more radical than the populum you're trying to argue from isn't the best tactic.

I get 100 points if the word " registration" is in your answer......
Registration. It’s like you’re psychic!
We register cars. We register appliances to take advantage of a warranty. We register trademarks and logos to protect business interests.
Why not register guns?
Boru Ask the neighbors. ( to our north).
Didn' t work.
The long gun registration enacted by the libs in 1995 was a total failure. Cost went far beyond predictions. Compliance with the law almost non- existant.
These are CANADIANS we are talking about....
You think Americans are going to go along with it?

I bought my guns for three purposes.
Target shooting
Hunting
Self-defense
The guns were designed simply to function as I see to use them.
You say you have no need for a gun - and like a seatbelt - you won' t need it - until you do.
Shit happens. If you believe it doesn' t - if you learn that it does - you will find it a very hard lesson.

For the record, Seat belts save thousands of lives per year, and while I haven’t been able to find the number of people lives saved because they were in a situation where one of the people involved had a firearm ready, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that that number isn’t over 10,000 per year. Especially if you don’t count soldiers in combat.

We could play the numbers game all day. But it' s pretty stupid.
Fact - nobody in the US has been killed by a LAWs rocket in the last 10 years. This means it must be the safest weapon available.
They should be available for purchase immediately !!

You think you can back that up? Because 36,096 people died of vehicle crashes in 2019. And while I haven’t been able to find the stats for deaths related to burglary in 2019, all evidence I’ve been able to find tells me the number of yearly deaths from that scenario are in the low triple digits.

And if civilians actually used the LAWS rocket on each other, that reductio ad absurdum might actually mean something.
