The PR Wing Of The GOP

RE: The PR Wing Of The GOP
Yeah because there is nothing special about a bunch of people storming the capital building to disrupt a branch of the government from verifying an election because their guy didn't win after weeks of Trump and right-wing media telling them they were cheated ....Yeah totally normal and totally just like some random people smashing up some businesses because those are in the same category of severity and you have to be far left to see that ..... Considering BLM protests were overwhelmingly peaceful and much of the destruction was carried out by people who had nothing to do with protests and a lot of it can be attributed to the police escalating things using heavy-handed methods .....Yeah  Dodgy

There are points of comparison. BLM / George Floyd protests were targeting official government functionaries, the police. As was January 6. Both were violent. Both obstructed official functions. We treat an attack on a judge different than we would an attack on a private citizen. Thus an attack upon the police or the legislature is different from an attack on a private firm or non-government organization. On the other hand there are plenty of differences to be noted. Intent. Centrality of the functionary obstructed. Goal. How integral violence was to those intents and goals. Whether the obstruction was aimed at achieving legitimate political goals (police reform) or illegitimate ones (overthrowing a fair election). The latter, btw, falls under the umbrella of terrorism, the former does not. The societal importance of the functionary obstructed. The percentage of actors that were violent. Whether the violence was directed or spontaneous. Whether the violence was encouraged by leaders or not. And so on. To see the two as comparable in scope and degree requires either a general inability to make meaningful discriminations of degree (black and white thinking) or a form of denial. Your call.

insurrection (noun): a violent uprising against an authority or government.

You just described every BLM protest that turned violent.

And thank you for verifying my assertion with
-"It’s called an insurrection because it was an insurrection."
....

If you still haven’t comprehended the difference between civil unrest and a violent attempt to overturn a free and fair election, I’m afraid I can’t help you.

The fact he can't tell the difference between a protest that turned violent and a group that specifically went to the capital to disrupt the confirmation and intimidate the house into changing the results. Nothing BLM(or people who had nothing to do with BLM more likely) did even come close to that.

There are plenty of great comparisons to be made. For example..in both the blm protests and the insurrection rahowists took their frustration out on police. In the former, correctly believing that it would lead to a militarized police response - but incorrectly believing that this would start the race revolution..and in the latter, having realized their earlier failure...to directly overthrow the government. As the man said. If you don't fight like hell, you won't have a country anymore.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

In 7,305 BLM protest events through Oct 2020, bystanders or protesters were reported injured in 1.6% of them. Police were reported injured in 1%. When there was violence, it was often directed at the protestors. Police used tear gas or the like at 2.5% of the events. They arrested over 8,500 protestors. A cop killed in California turned out to have been murdered by a Boogalooo Boi.

3.7% of the protests involved property damage or vandalism. 96.3% of the events involved no property damage or police injuries. In 97.7% of the events, no injuries were reported to bystanders, protestors, or police.

Conversely, 100% of attacks on the US Capitol in 2021 resulted in property damage, vandalism, attacks on police, and loss of life.

What bullshit.

Let' s look at what REALLY happened here....

Let' s start with the deaths..

Five, right????

How did they die???? Hmmmm???

According to the coroner - 1 protestor was shot by a capitol cop... Where is your killer cops diatribe? ? Oddly absent when they kill " the oter side"....

2 protestors died OF NATURAL CAUSES... 1 died of a meth overdose. ( gee where is the outrage for dope addicts not getting help??  Oh right - he was from the wrong party... Fuck him)

And 1 cop - died the next day - from as yet undisclosed reasons. Rumor has it a heart attack.... We' ll have to wait and see.

.....

Why not blame the event for everybody who had a heart attack from watching it on a TV??? But only those who died before midnite on Jan 7... We wouldn' t want to inflate the numbers, would we???
