Right. The cloudier the infospace, the sneakier the "info". Catfish do the same thing, it's a bottom-feeder tactic.

Trumps' speech on the 6th was bad too. I've never claimed otherwise.
There are levels to this shit though. I need to buy a clue because I'm not willing to say that some clowns breaking into a building and putting their feet up on desks and writing letters to Nancy Pelosi is not quite comparable to thousands of people dying? If you have nightmares of shirtless dudes in viking helmets coming for all of your rights like the Nazis did, then more power to you, but I just don't see it how you see it.
That's a funny caricature of my opinion, but given that you don't know me from Adam's housecat, it simply tells me you're comfortable imputing stuff without knowing about the person you're talking about.
I'd be happy to link you to numerous article delineating the threat, but I doubt you'd be much interested, given your apparent distrust of all media. It makes me wonder where do you get your news from? What sources do you find trustworthy?

Feel free to quote where I compared it to Pearl Harbor. I'll wait; I know you'll be forever, because, you know, I haven't.
But since you seem to be applying that comparison to people who've never used it, I'll tell what I do think of iL Pearl Harbor was more deadly but less dangerous. Obviously 2,403 killed is a lot more than one, but on the other hand the Japanese were starting a war they could never win, while the far right here in America could certainly win so long as people remain blasé, as you'd apparently advise.
You defended Kamala Harris pairing J6 with Pearl Harbor and 9/11, and basically called me a moron who needed to get a clue for having an issue with that, so forgive me for the misunderstanding. I've stated that it was awful what happened on J6, but for most people that are responding here, they seem to be making the argument that it's not really humanly possible to exaggerate what happened on J6. You see people invoking WWII, the Holocaust and 'Never forget". One person died. The vote was delayed for a few hours. The threat the right poses is not that they broke into a building and roughed up some cops. The threat of the right is their politics. It's their wanting to take away the right to abortion. It's their wanting to teach the wrong things to children in school. If you want to say that taking away abortion rights is worse than Pearl Harbor, then I'm right there with you and I would concur, but that is not what you are doing. The topic here is supposed to be J6 and what happened on that day. Not about the threat Republicans pose based on their political positions.

You took the statement too literally, and you are well aware that is not my position. I don't believe that everything is false and that holograms hit the twin towers or whatever. All news outlets are fake news outlets. That doesn't mean there aren't true stories. It simply means everyone is fallible, biased, whether that be consciously or unconsciously, and we are all trained liars. Change my mind.

People who fix people get paid. Go find one of them to help you deal with your issue. Meanwhile, you're the perfect example of how reich wing disinformation has damaged our country, one malfunctioning brain at a time. Just as j6 is demonstrative of the threat posed to our country by the same. Not just the event itself, but all of the spin on that event, also being fed to you and ours by that same lot. You're all lost somewhere in an imaginary hell of your own making - and..honestly, rebellion is the only rational outcome when you're firmly convinced of the irrational shit you've all been propagandized towards.
These assholes shooting folks up and plotting to body snatch officials.... they're just early adopters with the courage of their convictions. The people at j6 believed it was 1776 all over again, and that they would be remembered as the first americans in their own way - and they may yet be vindicated in that belief. You're not a trained liar, or a trained anything so far as I can tell, you've simply been conditioned to consume lies. To the point that lies jump out to you as truthy, and mere reality presents itself to you as a sea of unmitigated lies.

You seem hung up on numbers rather than intent. Also, calling this breaking-and-entering is being deliberately obtuse. This is to burglary what vehicular manslaughter is to a fender-bender. You have the luxury of minimizing it because you don't have to face the threat of the American far-right. Your vote was not under attack. Mine was. Forgive me for thinking that your opinion is influenced in part by the fact that you have the luxury of not caring.

So you don't see a problem with their trying to overturn a legal and fairly-executed election? The threat from the far right is in part their politics, but what makes this instance threatening is the threat they posed -- and pose -- to our democracy itself.
You counsel a blasé approach to this, but I'm afraid I will never agree with that. I bet you don't joke about bombs at airports, either. Maybe that'll help you get my perspective, but I'm not hopeful. You've got no skin in the game. For my part, I find your outlook entirely unconvincing.
I notice that you didn't answer my question about media sources at all, and that makes me think you're not really interested in conversation but rather a wind-up, so I'll let this conversation go. I already know why I think your position is wrong, but you won't entertain that, clearly. Being a guy who doesn't like wasting my time, I won't be doing that with you on this topic, either.

For the life of me I cannot understand why people insist on understating the severity of what occurred on January 6. What inside of you is making you defensive of the event?
It was real fucking serious. You think you're above "liberal" propaganda when you're saying exactly what the right-wing media machine wants you to say.

You're forgetting the four other Capitol police offices who killed themselves after what they saw on the ground on January 6. Four of them.
Quote:I'm aware there were pipe bombs planted. That's not good. As far as the people invading the capitol, you can't laugh at how much of a joke Q Anon Shaman is, and then at the same time act like he and the others were an actual threat to anything in the big scheme of things. So yeah, the threat level to democracy was zero. Deal with it. None of us here like these politicians in the capitol, and we probably all agree that they're a bunch of cunts, or at least 99 percent of them are, so yeah, they're not exactly the most sympathetic bunch, and I'm not going to cry tears for them. Look at their approval rating as a group. I disavow what these cook rioters did, but it's clown world if we're going to make a big deal about this every year on the anniversary like it's 9/11 or Pearl Harbour. No. Just no. Again, you can say that I'm understating what happened because "but.. but... but.. teh Q Anon Shaman wanted to end democracy." I don't care if the man wanted to take over the whole damn galaxy. There was still zero threat to democracy or the Republic.
It's easy to say that now because A) the Capitol was successfully evacuated in time, and B) the actual chest containing the delegate votes was saved. If either or both A and B were not true, blood would have been spilt and it absolutely would've had an immense impact on our democratic election.
What do you think would've happened if the rioters had successfully cornered Pelosi or other politicians in their offices?

You don't need to respond since you've got your supposed mic drop and you're too good and you're on your way, but you've proven my point with your post. I've sided with you completely in saying that Repubs are a threat to people's rights, but you still try to pretend and make false claims about me not caring about that threat, because I refuse to say that Democracy was under threat on J6, which is your delusional belief. I don't need to give into your delusions to prove that I care.
And ah yes, the argument from authority. I'm American and you're Canadian, so that settles that. Americans have never been known to be wrong.
And as far as news sources go, the most reliable is... I don't know, TMZ probably. They're pretty good.
