Sarah palin is not a conservative republic.   She is a would be trump,  but unfortunately for her she was born with far far too few brain cells to ever match trump’s zero.  Trump at least won a game of one dimensional chess back in 2016.   She lost a game of zero dimensional chess.

Her defeat suggest trumpism is curdling around the edges, but it remains a single petrifying mass in the middle.

This statement starts with the assumption that people take on their parent's political positions. An assumption we know is wrong.

Conservative Republicanism is neither dead nor dying. It is currently suffering from an acute case of Trumpism. This malady is serious, but treatable - constant activism and voting is a usually effective cure.

If that doesn’t work, try torches and pitchforks.

not taking advantage of latitude afforded by dependency to force their own political position on their children is not a conservative political position.
