An interesting thing (to me) about an omnipresent God is that if you stipulate somewhere it's not (such as hell), it's not anywhere.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Genesis 4:16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Maybe it wasn't even a real place:
Wikipedia -- Land of Nod
No apparent references in Star Wars.

The Land of Nod for me was St. John's.

Jokes are only ever better when they're explained.
Anywho, is there some reason that you think it's salient which perch or perches a god might operate from? Sure, sure, there are about a million different expressions about how and from where a god operates, and people will either use them or respond to them - but over above and around all that...would it matter which (if any) were accurate descriptions, do you think..and if so, why?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Grand Nudger: yes, i believe so. i think a lot of the resistance to the belief/concept of God has to do with common interpretations of certain verses in the Bible. for example, much of the omnipotent effect about God has to do with the fact that God is in us, so that much of the working of God is determined by us.

This is something I've read a lot from more mystical Christians. It has a long pedigree. It was a key point for William Blake. And it grows through various thinkers into German Idealism, into Hegel.
Quote:Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which He looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which He blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are His body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
— St. Teresa of Ávila (attributed)

I guess that's a theory, though I don't think it will get much traction here (despite, as far as I can tell, that last bit being at least mechanically true, lol). Speaking only for myself, there's no issue of interpretation and it has nothing to do with magic book. I just don't believe in gods. I think to myself, self..do you believe in gods?
Nope.

Grand Nudger: from what ive gathered about the term "atheism", i believe it only means a disbelief in idols, what i think youve called "narrative devices". i believe this agrees with Christianity; it speaks against idolatry too, the worship of anything we can see or detect. by "narrative device", i think you mean that it is only a reference to a much larger something "behind the scene." as a Christian, i believe this is true, up to and including Christ himself. so i think that, basically, God is the good that these devices have been referencing.
