theVOID Wrote:It doesn't exist, might not even be possible, certainly isn't conceivable.
Sae is letting intuitions get in the way.
It does exist, is therefore not only possible but real, and I agree that it is not conceivable.
Yes... intuitions is what it is
Void Wrote:Wtf?
Everything is the sum of all things, the universe is the sum of all things within a region of spacetime.
Nothing is NOT a thing, nothing is the ABSENCE of things. Literally, No Things = Zero things = 0
Reference: "No, everything is one thing. The universe is one. Adding zero to this does not change it. And nothing is also a thing, so calling it zero is kinda funny really."
I agree that everything is the sum of all things. I do not believe the universe is everything. There is undeniably nothing outside of the universe. Hehe, i did it again. It's actually funny to me ^_^
Nothing is a thing, it is the absence of things. Let's look at that again... nothing is the absence of things. I agree that nothing contains no things. Hence the point of the thing in the first place?
Quote:You're on crack, that's the only way I can rationalize how retarded you are some times.
This is going to go around in circles until you agree that nothing is NOT a thing.
I'm not on crack, amazingly. Don't touch drugs. Me is good girl. I could get them if I want, but I don't want. What could I possibly need drugs for when reality is so interesting?
Circles are fun... you don't need to be all arrogant like "until you agree", especially when the exact opposite could be said of you. Regardless, I do not believe it is a circle. It is quite clearcut to me, zero confusion even. Hence it's like reading farce when so many of you tell me otherwise. No doubt you have the same towards me. Only you lot seem confused
Void Wrote:Everything - Everything = 0. Sure.
Now can you get it into your head that "no things" = "nothing"
Everything minus everything... is still everything. And it is also nothing. And it is still a total of one in both examples. One thing is everything, and that one thing is nothing. Nothing is everything, everything is nothing. But only in that example. Everything is not nothing in non-equivilent examples. Oh, and nothing is everything except everything, always.
Funnily enough, I already have it in my head that nothing = no things. However, I also understand that it is a thing. Not multiple things, mind. Just one.
Reverend Wrote:Im not backing Sae up 100%. Nothing definitely = no thing.
Love the support, Rev And I agree. Nothing is no things, which is to say it is 1 thing.
Quote:I tried to expand my view of nothing and actually got "transparent" instead. My imagination just imagined something that is see through. Nothing looked like what I was looking at during the time.
Interesting... I don't agree or disagree.
Quote:Am I the only one who has a hard time trying to explain "nothingness"? The funny thing is that I expect nothingness to be perfect peace after death. Or should I say "non-existence".
Nope. And yes, death is nothingness. Death is peace.
Quote:Thumbs up if you have the same conundrum as I.
Can't, i don't have a conundrum about nothing It's always about something. But never nothing. Unless that something is nothing. But it's not.
Void Wrote:You're trying to picture something with no form, it's bound to result in rough analogies.
Non existence = peace? How? Peace is a positive thing, not neutrality or nothingness.
I agree with the former statement fully.
Death is peace. The moment there is a single quiver in energy, a disturbance (in the force)... peace is no longer.
