Try harder

RE: Do atheists believe in the existence of friendship?
Atheists usually believe in things that can be backed up by evidence, and friendship is something that requires evidence. Indeed, friendship is something that almost constantly needs evidence as it needs to be maintained.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

When I am not "being"  friendly, I'm kicking puppies, kittens,  and small children.

And this also happens in best families.
After all, humans are not supposed to be alike, otherwise life on earth will be real boring Smile

You see? Smile  Answering the second question is not simple.

I just don't want to play your silly game.

Now, it is time for the second question Big Grin

If two persons stand before you, please let me know how you could be sure that friendship exists in them or not. Thank you.

Naturally, the third question will be based on how each of you will answer this second one Smile

You're welcome?

How to determine if friendship exists 'Within' them?

MRI scan? Or some other sort of brain activity scanning mechanism?

Pretty sure they're up to decoding neuron patterns and hence partially up to 'Reading people's minds' level of tech.

"Humans are not supposed to be alike"?

Okay, so English is maybe not your first language.

Maybe want to try and parse out your thoughts with both simpler and easier-to-define words?

Instead of this 'String along the garden path' style of talking?

Cheers.

Well said. But I wonder what 'evidence' in this case could be, to you in the least.

If I understood you well, friendship, as you see it, has a biological aspect that needs some specialists to discover its existence.

Congratulations, you win. There is no third question for this Big Grin

Huh

Technically 'EVERYTHING" has a 'PHYSICAL"| aspect to it. Hence the 'Reality' we experience around us.

Oh, so no point other than to 'Poke the non-believer', then?

Cheers.

In fact, many humans feel better in seeing themselves as being very complex intelligent machines guided by their pre-programmed instructions (instincts).

Unfortunately, I feel better by opposing many of these pre-programmed instructions, embedded in my mortal living body.
I feel better by not judging others, by not taking revenge, by not resisting evil, by respecting others as they are... etc.  I know... I know... you likely think that I am a damaged machine Big Grin

You meet some strange Humans, then.

There also seems to be a lack of understanding of what, perchance, 'Biology' is on your part. However, I do not wish to be presumptuous.

Yes. Well done. Welcome to being 'Human' and experiencing 'Mirror neurons' and all that stuff.

Cheers.
