Is the suffering worth it

RE: Is the suffering worth it
It matters if you're saying it a universal or objective truth, or if you have to have confidence that it is correct to affect something in your life, or if you are trying to convince another.

Or maybe it's just for the fun of the discussion.

I would argue that I personally value consciousness, but that I totally understand that some conscious experiences can be worse than non-existence.

I have no fear of death. The End is the end full stop

I could make you fear it. Diablo

Dying is scary. It is likely painful and ends something I want to continue.
Death itself is perhaps not scary, except in an irrational way, but is something I don't want at present.

It's easier to just say I fear death rather than teasing out all those bits.

Just because. Life is an inherently valuable thing. It is not to be wasted.

Says who?

I have no fear of death, it is going to happen. The way thst I might that death has some cause for concern. But, when it comes, I will be dead, and nothing will matter.

True. But you will have ceased to be, and that's a subjectively bad thing, is it not?

Fair enough.
To me loss of things I want is something I don't want. I dislike people taking my money, I also dislike losing my capacity to ever feel pleasure. I label those as 'bad'.

The things the world tells us are not half as scary as the things we tell ourselves.
