You'd have to get a sweetheart deal to plead it out as theft, is what it is. I think the only thing in more bad faith than the act are the various justifications and excuses the admin is giving. Obama did it, for example. This is just like compensating black farmers for the well demonstrated and explicitly documented discrimination under the usda loan program. Except it's not at all like that, and has no legal oversight. At the very bottom of it all it is trump finding yet another way to declare himself the king of america. A man who can only be sued by himself, who settles his own greivances himself, in whatever way he chooses, related or not...and pays out amounts he decides to people he favors from taxed funds. Or not. Maybe he does just keep it. As we all know, king donald is schrodingers monarch. Simultaneously the most powerful and victimized being on earth.

I just keeps getting better. The DOJ has hereby declared that the irs is forever barred, in all caps, from investigating any trump financial crimes.

Doesn't it? I believe the exact wording was "all claims that have been made, or could be made". Oh yeah? What claims could be made?

If it's any consolation, the DOJ doesn't have authority to impose such a restriction on the IRS. But I bet Kash's work daddy loved it.
