It seems a bit ironic that we're being lectured on celebrating someone's death by an avowed member of a death cult.

So witty, so sauve, wow much wit

It lacks the irony of suggesting only poor people who live in slums can be shot dead, while claiming to have some sort of moratorium on valuing human life of course.

"Lectured" has an implication that you learn; 

No it certainly does not, especially when the sententious lecture is based primarily on the morals of bronze age, patriarchal Bedouin societies. 

I gave up on that on day one.

A society that values human life  does cheer the death of  a man who callously profited off denying others life. It shows excellent morals to do so.

Just to be clear, your position that a moral - i.e. a civilized - society should cheer when a man, charged of no crimes, is unlawfully executed in public with risk of bystandards bang harmed?

I see where the left "fear" of guns comes from; they project their own fantasies on everyone else.

Cheering for people being murdered is *not* moral or civil, barbarian.

Is there realistic legal recourse against someone who, say, caused the death of your wife via bureacratic means? Given that if you had the means for a successful legal battle with a wealthy corporation, you'd have had the money for your wife's lifesaving procedure without your claim being paid in the first place?

I work for a company that does insurance, though not in the insurance part of it. United Healthcare's denial rate is double the industry average. They've been using generative AI to automate denials. Their model, nH Predict is known to be inaccurate and to err on the side of denying. There have been lawsuits over the AI prematurely ending payment for care of patients.

I don't know the assassin's motive, it may have been ideological, or maybe they're a disgruntled ex-employee. But if the shooter lost a loved one over something like that and snapped, I don't condone them assassinating Thompson Brian Thompson. But I understand. So do a lot of other people, apparently.

I think the reaction is at least partly due to people being able to empathize with someone they imagine may have resorted to an extreme measure to extract justice for the death of a loved one that they can't get from the system. Millions of people have had to fight insurance companies to get their claims paid and many of them have lost that fight. They think the shooter might be someone like them.

Tangentially, why are murders almost always described as ‘cold blood’? Some of them are so to be sure, but what about hot-blooded murders?

If I were to murder someone, I hope I’d be enraged and passionate about it.
