One the flip side there are some truly great works of literature that were not only by Christian authors, but rely heavily on Christian allegory.

Just as I won’t condemn a religious-themed work, I won’t praise a book simply because it’s anti-religion.

Does anyone else have the 'Different Strokes' theme in their head?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Any book that speaks the truth speaks against religion and thus destroys faith.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Of course, the theme of the book isn't a reason to admire or hate it, but the ones I mentioned are great in their own merit. Children of Gabalawi for example is well written with endless philosophical depth and Insane Entities is actually great dark work that dive deeply into human mind in a disturbing way.

Welcome, Sara, I hope you like it here. I'm a sucker for a good horror novel, especially one that sounds Lovecraftian. I think I'll look into Insane Entities, at least.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

These books strip religion from their holiness, use their core against them, therefore people find it offensive
