Trump can't pardon her, politically, and under no circumstances does he want any more sunlight shining into these files.

Apparently, Maxwell’s attorney David Markus made a statement saying in part:

Quote: If this Committee and the American public truly want to hear the unfiltered truth about what happened, there is a straightforward path. Ms. Maxwell is prepared to speak fully and honestly if granted clemency by President Trump.

Only she can provide the complete account. Some may not like what they hear, but the truth matters. For example, both President Trump and President Clinton are innocent of any wrongdoing. Ms. Maxwell alone can explain why, and the public is entitled to that explanation.

And rather disturbingly, it seems like, from what I know about Trump, the biggest sticking point may very well be that Ghislaine is exonerating Clinton as well as Trump.

Yeah, that's kind of what I suspect both Trump and Maxwell want to do. Maxwell wants to not spend the rest of her life in prison, and Trump wants to somehow not be implicated in his old buddy Epstein's escapades.

It's all useless now. No one will believe him. He could be telling the truth, and his incompetent coverup will damn him all the same. 83% of republicans believe that the government should release all the files. 1 month ago only 6% would tell a stranger taking a deeply and overtly partisan poll they believed he was covering up his involvement. That number has doubled.
