No one is expecting him to behave like a 50-year-old. No one is claiming that an 80-year-old can't be an effective president. But this particular 80-year-old appears more and more to be medically unfit for the job, and the nodding off is indicative of that. If you had a 50-year-old president who was dozing off in meetings, would you 'really care'?
It's not ageism, it's concern that a mentally aberrant and physically declining individual with extensive power can't stay awake in situations where it's important to do so. If Trump was an 80-year-old shopkeeper, I wouldn't 'really care' either, but the welfare of hundreds of millions of people doesn't depend on the decisions of a shopkeeper.
It's not ageist to acknowledge that there are certain people of a certain age who are unsuited for certain jobs.

It's a symptom, not a debilitating condition in itself. In the context of his overall health, it may mean something or it may mean nothing.
Functioning isn't all or nothing. As a person with mental illness, I know that significant symptoms can coexist with high functioning.

Let's just say that number of photographs of Donald Trump fast asleep during meetings: HUNDREDS.
Number of photographs of every other president asleep during meetings, combined: ZERO.
This POS has broken every POS record.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I didn’t say or imply that his nodding off was a debilitating condition, I said it was indicative of his decline. You know, like a symptom or something.
I also didn’t say or imply that functionality is all or nothing. But his nodding off combined with forgetting peoples’ names, forgetting where he is, his denial of reality, etc doesn’t exactly make he think he’s highly functional.

No, you said his nodding off was indicative of his being unfit for office. I disagreed for the reason stated. Now you're just engaged in historical revisionism.

Right. An indication of his decline and said decline rendering him unfit for the office he holds. Jesus.

An elderly gentleman nodding off isn't indicative of his being unfit. By itself, it isn't indicative of shit, even if other things may indicate unfitness.
It isn't indicative of unfitness because it is normal for his age, and normal age-related decline on its own doesn't indicate anything about his fitness to perform his job.
You said that he was looking more and more to be unfit for the job and that his nodding off was a symptom of that. It isn't. Full stop. Normal age-related decline isn't a sign of any unfitness to adequately perform his responsibilities.

The man would have been unfit for the job in his prime, whatever that looked like. I guess the thing we can all take comfort in is that there's absolutely no way he's ever performed his responsibilities, adequately or otherwise. They've got a much higher energy nazi doing all of that boring shit.
