I have many Bantu friends from Somalia, I helped with tutoring the children and helping them with their homework starting about a year after they arrived as refugees (oppressed minority in Somalia, sucks to be that when civil war breaks out) and that was about six years ago. I'm still involved, although the children rarely need my help regarding school matters anymore, I usually do something with some of them every weekend, even if it's just taking them to the library. Although clearly trumped by the tribal issues of the dominant clan Somalis, I've noticed the care the mosque takes in teaching that race and ethnicity are unimportant compared to being Muslim. An example is that some of the girls wanted to meet my gf, and one of the younger ones wanted to know her race...her older cousin admonished her, 'We don't ask that, we don't care about such things.' One of the young men is engaged to an Afghani woman, another Bantu wondered about marrying a white, and was told 'she is Muslim, that is what matters'.

Clearly, they are not entirely free of racial stereotypes, but also clearly, they have an ethic that moderates in favor of religious solidarity over ethnic and racial issues. OTH, their mosque is also teaching them that Shi'a are not really Muslims. So it goes.

Well, this is a becoming a problem in Turkey aswell. From the whole "support Gaza" situation in Turkey, something that we shouldn't even be involved in, I can see that Turks are beginning to put religion in before of their blood.
None have even heard of Eastern Turkestan, and how the Turk there looks up to the Turks here for help and brotherly assistance, but the non-Turk that rules over us tells us that religion is always 1st place, since he fears that Turks would tell him to GTFO back to Georgia if he likes it so much, or back to Arab land, if he likes the arabs so much.

For England, however, it'd be something entirely different. Muslims are not natives of England. If I, as a Turk would live in England, I would first and foremost consider myself a Turk. Because that's what I am.
And those people just lack the ethnic loyalties and nationalistic tendencies that we Turks have, and therefore cling to religion, because they have nothing else.
I don't really blame them though.

But how would I behave if I lived in a foreign land?
Let me tell you from my own experiences in Germany.
I lived there for three years, and have had friendly relations with both Turks and Germans, and was enemies with both our traditional enemies, and my own countrymen, and of course, with some Germans, too.

I found the need to be with my own kin, so I joined up with the Grey Wolves in Germany. I could really say that it was really influential in what I am today, as it helped to shape my ideals, and make me more aware of what I really was.

Before that, I thought like we were something like arabs, because we were muslim, even though my grandfather used to curse at the arabs all the time.
But when I faced hostility from the arabs, and sought protection from my own blood brethren, I saw that religion was not a factor that constituted brotherhood between people.
I abandoned the idea, and took up the idea of blood ties entirely.
I have never met an arab, or any other muslim besides a Turk that treated me with friendhsip.
The muslims in britain probably do not understand this quite well yet.
Indeed, the muslims there are set together from three main groups.
Pakis. Probably the most numerous ones.
Arabs. Second numerous ones.
Turks. Third. Mostly from Cyprus.
We Turks and Pakis generally get along quite well eachother, however we can't do the same with arabs. Wonder why? I'll tell you why. Arabs generally hate Turks. Ask this to their face, and they will tell you how brutally they suffered under the bootheel of the "barbaric Turk" and how the Turks made them look bad throughout history and etc..However, they now ask for our assistance, and we are supposed to provide it, because we are "brothers"? Brotherhood is only between people who share a common bloodline. ARabs and Turks have no such ties. The only ties that we are going to have may only be purely historical and cultural, and that certainly does not go beyond the annexation of Egypt from the Mameluks(whose ancestors were also Turks).
