To not belief God exists is to believe God does not exist. There is no difference.

To lack belief is agnosticism.

Then why haven't we found a god fossil yet? There are plenty of dead gods, like Zeus, Ra, Odin, etc which aren't worshiped any more. We haven't even found any evidence of a live god, let alone a dead one.

And I could just say that a unicorn is a magical creature which doesn't leave a fossil. Or I could say, "Have you been to every planet in the universe? So how do you know there are no unicorn fossils anywhere?"

No, agnosticism means believing that you can't know for sure either way. And whether self-proclaimed agnostics want to believe it or not, they are atheists if they don't believe in a god of some sort.
