Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Not really sure what you're referring to, because the only thing I've said in this conversation was that I've never seen you post your beliefs. Please show me one instance where I've acted like I was indoctrinated.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

You were shocked that anyone could think an atheist could be illogical... because your rhetoric doesn't allow for it. When I look at it critically I see no evidence of logical thinking. Just nievity.
Yes you trolled a lot in this thread. Accusing me of point dodging like the rest of the mob, where I actually point blank refused to be goaded.

Wrong again, I was shocked because by you saying you have never met a logical atheist, thereby declaring everyone here to be illogical whom you don't know enough about to call illogical.

I never accused you of anything, I just merely pointed out that I had only seen you toss out insults and had not seen you address your beliefs. I then pointed out you may have addressed your beliefs, and I missed them. I apologize if you saw me as goading as part of a mob. I was merely curious to hear your beliefs.

Yes... therefore no one here has yet satisfied the criteria for me. That isn't to say no one ever will.
Ok & fair enough. I'm mainstream Xtian. I follow the nicene creed <--- and that is what I believe separates Christians from those that don't accept Christ. It includes Catholics & Protestants, but not JWs, Mormons etc.. I believe on faith: that is, faith defined as this:
Quote:What is Faith:
Being persuaded and fully committed in trust, involving a confident belief in the truth, value, and trustworthiness of God. When it comes to Christianity, 'faith' is defined by three separate but vitally connected aspects (especially from Luther and Melancthon onwards): notitia (informational content), assensus (intellectual assent), and fiducia (committed trust). So faith is the sum of having the information, being persuaded of its truthfulness, and trusting in it. To illustrate the three aspects: "Christ died for ours sins" (notitia); "I am persuaded that Christ died for our sins" (notitia + assensus); "I deeply commit in trust to Christ who I am persuaded died for our sins" (notitia + assensus + fiducia). Only the latter constitutes faith, on the Christian view.
Consequently, notitia and fiducia without assensus is blind and therefore not faith. This shipwrecks the egregious canard that faith is merely a blind leap. Faith goes beyond reason—i.e., into the arena of trust—but never against reason. From the Enlightenment onwards, faith has been subject to constant attempts at redefining it into the realm of the irrational or irrelevant (e.g., Kant's noumenal category); but all such attempts are built on irresponsible straw man caricatures that bear no resemblance to faith as held under the Christian view: notitia, assensus, and fiducia. - Ryft
I came to faith through a lot of time struggling with the concepts of Xtianity, finally having to submit to the balance of my conclusions.
^^maybe that's the crux you'd be interested in... and it consists of the mechanisms outlined in the definition of faith above.
I grew up with little or no religious influence at home. I rebelled against sunday sch at an early age and was excused. I moved from not much idea to atheist as I grew up. Later I became interested in all religious observation. Drawn to paganism, though that never lead anywhere. I did have my own minor experience of prophetic dreaming.. the kind that never meant much - I dreamed situations that I would then live through - like re-watching a movie. The only ones that puzzle me are the ones where I had no prior experience of the place, things or people there. It's kinda freakish and I have no explanation. I don't attribute it to anything. I am strongly skeptical and dismiss all those kind of things as psychological in causation. Saying that - I think our minds are substantially more powerful than we manage to tap into in our waking lives. Perhaps we don't need the depth of information that our dreams show we do retain.
I got the opportunity to consider Xtianity at age 24. I was full on until age 32~ish when I de-converted. About three years ago it was all dragged up again speaking with atheists with obvious misunderstandings of faith that I got back into it again, and became Xtian again.

Indeed. Adrian needs to install a 'stormwatch' program that indicates the weather in the thread. Categories would be: sunny, partly cloudy, mostly cloudy, raining lightly, thunderstorm, hurricane, omgendtimes, and Fr0d0storm.
"Frodostorm" see, LOTR could have been a much shorter story with you at the helm.
